==========

I'm currently working on a dented fuel tank trying to get it presentable to use on my recent Interceptor acquisition. I tried unsuccessfully to get the dent out using various methods and finally decided just to take the Bondo approach.

It would have needed paint touch up regardless of method so I think this is an OK approach.

Here's where I am as of this evening. Will do more prep tomorrow and hopefully the first application of filler.

Baz, I repaired a dented aluminum RM250 tank for a buddy some years ago using compressed air and a propane torch. It was nerve racking but it came out great with just a touch of bondo needed.

Hi Tim - thanks for posting - super impressive! I have read about using heat and compressed air - even a blood pressure tester - and am sure I will use some of those applications in the future. For now this one should end up Ok with just the bondo. I used the bondo with embedded fg cloth shreds. Hope to get back on that job tomorrow.

What? No. I’ve blown through my motorcycle budget for the next ten years. Just a beautiful bike. Sad that I can’t have everything.

There's another Interceptor for sale right now in Colorado I'm looking at.

Very tempting but I'm trying very hard to maintain my purchasing freeze.

That said......if it was local I'd grab it in a NY minute.

The transport fee is what's giving my pause.....
