I've read about others getting reimbursed for unused portions of extended warranties. I'd say it's worth a try, what do you have to loose, other than some time?
How are you feeling, neck wise etc?

I'm good. They offered a small sum for inconvenience and a few G's credit to be used for chiropractic care for the next 6 months. I'm holding off on signing off on the medical until I see where we come out on with the property reimbursement.

Did they figure out how fast the guy was going when he hit you?
That had to be quite an impact to do that kind of damage.

Don't be too scared of fixing it, as long as it is done correctly. Full frame trucks like this can have the frames replaced as a unit. Just make sure you take it to a reputable facility for repairs. The tow hitch is what totales out the majority of rear end hits at my facilities. If you do not tow, I would suggest taking them off.

If they were to repair it they would need to have ordered new frame ($7-10k), new bed ($5k) and new leaf springs as a start. Then move all the components from the old truck over to the new frame. I told them NFW was I going to be waiting 1 1/2 - 2 months to have a truck repaired that had $25k in damage, they could keep it.

I found the exact same truck, fewer miles for around the cost of the buy out. Only problem is it's in Phoenix so fly out drive back. Oh well, road trip!

The insurance company (State Farm) has given me a decent buyout but I'm working to get reimbursed for 1 month old BFG KO 2's, top of the line 3M window tint all around and Line-X spray on bed liner. A question for the Pelican Brain Trust. I had a 100k, $100 deductible extended warranty that I bought for the truck when purchased in May with 42k on the clock. They totaled the truck with 54k on the clock and I asked State Farm for reimbursement. The claims adjuster said I need to go to the dealer I bought the extended warranty from and ask for a rebate. I'd never heard of this, do you think they'll reimburse or tell me to pound sand?

The seller has no obligation to reimburse. It's all about ins coverage now. Yours or the other driver. Do not give up. Talk lawyer talk until you're blue in the face.

Look at the Ext'd warranty contract. Normally you can cancel and get unused prorated portion back.
