A bingo brawl broke out at a Canadian nursing home Tuesday after two female residents reportedly bickered over an empty seat and refused to back down.

Canadian authorities said the two women, ages 79 and 86, are residents at a long-term care facility at Rideau Lakes, Ontario – a roughly a 45-minute drive from the U.S. border.

The women wanted to sit in the same seat during bingo, but neither would compromise, CBC reported. A “physical altercation” then broke out, prompting other residents to get involved. The situation escalated into a "somewhat" of a brawl, the report said.

If this sounds like a Seinfeld episode, that's because it was.

A Canadian license plate review committee has rejected a man’s request to personalize his license plate with his real name: “Assman,” because it could be misread and cause offense, according to a report.

ave Assman, who lives in the Canadian province Saskatchewan, said he’s had his request denied before and doubts whether it’ll ever be granted.

Tyler McMurchy, a spokesman for the SGI, which reviews personalized license plate requests, said the committee must abide by a set of guidelines regardless if a word “is someone’s name and pronounced differently than the offensive version.”

“It’s my last name, I’ve always had it,” he said. “I’m not ashamed of it. There’s nothing bad about it.”

Yes they will. Go through a different bank. I have paid with Canadian cheque’s before. If there is a TD nearby, they may be able to help.

Vise versa...a Canadian bank wont accept a US personal cheque.

Yes they will. I have sent several to a Canadian hauler and never had a problem.

Canadian checks don't have a routing number acceptable in the US banking system.

The right bank would deposit the check with a hold until the funds clear. I deposited a few checks from Canadian business partners.

Doesn't make sense. They should have just made a refund to your card.

Technically you can cash a US cheque in Canada, but the hold time (months) is unacceptable. Doesn't matter if it's certified.

Routing numbers claim is BS, I can send/receive a wire transfer instantly, from most anywhere, all it adds to my number is a routing prefix.
I only take personal cheques for deposits. I haven't had a cheque book in quite a few years now. I can do any Canadian transaction free with interac or through my bank online.

Had to go to a TD Bank(US) and open an account. They put a hold on it even though they are a related bank.

Xemodex, the company I bought the defective Mercedes part from did me no favors except for honoring the warranty.

Would not consider any other refund device other than the check. Hopefully the hold will be only 3 business days that the US bank claims.

I will think twice before buying from north of the border again.
