Very well, where should I begin? My father was a relentlessly
self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen-year-old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink, he would make outrageous claims, like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. A sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. If I was insolent, I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds. Pretty standard, really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fifteen, a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shawn scrotum. At the age of
eighteen, I went off to evil Engineering school.

Pops,
Beautiful boat!!!!!! My heart sank into my stomach when I read your post - I'm very jealous. I grew up sailing off the coast of Vancouver and dream of the day my wife and I will spend some serious time sailing like you've done!
Looks like boat building has it's benefits???
Cheers

Hi Jared,

Yes, we still cut and splice print stock to view the dailies that they shoot (after it gets processed). So it still comes in and goes out to Film. But dailies are also telecined which means transferred to video so that producers can pop in a tape and 'have a look'.

However everyone uses a digital tool called the AVID to edit. It's basically a non-linear editing tool which allows greater flexibility in making quick changes instead of building reels like back in the old days.

Movies are is still the number one export for the U.S. to the world !

Pops - Awesome boat!!

Steven - Interesting career field...one of my brother-in-laws (an orthopedic surgeon in Seattle) worked on a spouse of an actor in the X-men movies. He meets a lot of interesting people...

Hi Sarah,

Yes, it's still fun. Took me awhile to get to this point though... Hew!

As for your brother-in-law, Way cool, talk about six degrees of separation. Or is it six degrees of Kevin Bacon.

Building the boat was a lot of work, but the Sea of Cortez was a great payoff. Sold the boat so giving up building boats for a while cause I'm building a house up in the woods. My recommendation is if you want to go sailing somewhere exotic, rent one....building one takes too many years to do and too much money that you never get back. If you want to see more info on the boat, go to my profile and I have a home page.

I love my porSChe. She's the best one there is because she's mine. Pops

Hey Sarah....this is pops wife., Mary....from Richfield.
