Dan - What programs do you use? We mainly use AGI32 and then convert drawings to/from AutoCad.

Wow...I did not realize there were so many "male prostitutes" in the group. Is that how you guys paid for college??

Hummm...my husband used to work in a warehouse during college. He had a male co-worker who was an "exotic dancer" & had a very nice porsche. I guess the guy only paid appx. $5000 for it, but it was worth way more money...wonder what he had to do to get such a good price??

Perhaps the guy was a lousy prostitute, and in sympathy, his client sold him the car at a discount.

Well..that is possible. I met the guy once...he had a nice bod but was taking tanning pills and looked orange. Kind of made me think of an Oompa Loompa (sp?) from the Willy Wonka movie!

Sarah, I am not lucky enough to use a program. Being in distribution (that is my income), I kind of got dragged into design by my contractors. Knowing the manufactures and material has benifited me greatly. Over the last 10 years I have come to work with the local architects, designers and engineers on projects (mostly high end residences) and have really grown to enjoy that aspect of construction. Someday maybe I will graduate to a full on designer, but for now this arrangement works great.

Mostly equity analyst, a little bit portfolio manager. Cover some tech stocks, some transportation stocks. Buy-side not sell-side (an important distinction to make nowadays.)

I think I got my Porsche because the market was depressing me so much (I work for a long-only shop).

I should probably PM some of you - might learn something.

jared - hey...that rhymed.

dan - I actually learned how to do most of the design work "on the job" from a co-worker who is an engineer and they also had me take lighting classes and do a computer tutorial. Before that I was in a completely different field (law enforcement) so it was kind of interesting to change career fields and then find that I really enjoy it (not to mention the stress reduction ).

rob - that was funny!!

jyl - my husband can totally relate to your market depression comments. He's an institutional bond broker & he never knows what each day is going to be like. Thus he asked me if we could strike a deal when we get the porsche back next week that he can drive it to work on either mondays or tuesday to help "psych" him up for the work week.

Gee, I thought the bond buys were having it sort of okay.

On the psychology thing, I spent the whole weekend working on the Porsche. I think it was so that I couldn't watch CNN the whole time.

In a way the bond guys are doing ok...it is just that a lot of his clients are cities/counties. Our state in having a huge budget crisis so they are being very conservative on what they are able to do at the moment.

So...Tim will for sure get the porsche on Mondays to start his week.

I'm an Administrator for Hitachi Data Systems (Eastern Region)...I'm based outside of Philadelphia. Anotherwords, I crunch their numbers each month to make sure we meet our quotas.

I can honestly say that for once in my life I love my job!

Well, I wear several hats.
I am contractor, I do Hardwood floors. Mostly in Restaurants and Nite clubs and some residential.
I also do private collection work, for family members, I collect Money, Cars, personal belongings, not so personal belongings, Collatteral holdings, anything that needs to be "handled" I do.
I also am a musician. I've played on many mid level to large scale artists records. More than I'm excited about, I fail to be creditted with playing/working on the album. This is a common occurance in the music industry, it's nothing new. Warner, sony and columbia owe me money that I'll never see.. hehe.. but I've been rewarded with the memories of sessions, that'll keep cany conversation from getting boring. I am also married to Pam B. Yes we are a working Family.

,Frank B

Frank - It is nice to see that your wife Pam has joined the Board. She adds another "gal" to the mix.

Fairly junior investment banker, made redundant.

Now doing the same thing on a smaller scale and project by project. Less work = good. I didn't really need or want all that money (not for 60-80 hours a week).

Of course being a sensitive new age pimp takes up a lot of my time too. Kurt is actually one of my *****es.
