Pretty lame, but I’m installing magnets in pucks to attach to the 911 and use with my Quickjack. Hopefully, it works…

Not lame at all and thanks for the idea. I have used other materials for the contact between my jack and the flange at the jacking points. AND I have pucks!

I have to give Glen the credit, as I think he mentioned doing it

Not a lame idea, it’s just me being lame and not doing much lately

Drove about an hour this morning when the battery warning light came on this morning. I just passed the Ford dealer and Advanced Auto Parts. I went to advance, and they checked the battery and charging. Battery was good, but the alternator was not putting out enough.

Drove home I’m looking for me, I had a brand, new alternator, waiting for install it with the new engine. It took about an hour.

Not very exciting but I fixed the extra remote for our powered shades. Small thing but it'll be nice to have both working.

btw if you haven't checked out powered blinds/shades they are pretty nice to have.

^^^ at one house I built several years ago, we had two skylights that I installed motorized blinds. They made a big difference in the daytime as we had the room set up for watching TV

Not exciting at all, but very satisfying. I thought the wax ring was leaking; picturing myself dropping everything and fixing that mess was about to make my head hurt, but I slowed myself down and figured out that the problem was just loose bolts at the tank to basin seal.

I noticed water under the 5 year old washer the other day, so disconnected it, tipped it over and quickly determined there was a pin hole in the plastic drain hose. Next morning saw me in a local hardware store where a replacement was sourced. Installation was a piece of cake, but the old style coupling to the drain under the sink in the next room was not sealing properly, so a trip was made to find a replacement sealing ring.

Apparently none of the stores within 20 miles of here carry the 1" diameter ring for the old style so I figured I should update to the new style with a standpipe into which the washer drain hose was placed to prevent reverse siphoning. Another trip supplimented my almost complete collection of ABS parts and once I was home I started cutting out old fixtures and duplicating.

Not too bad, but a dry test fit showed a bit of misalignment so back to the hardware store for another fitting. With that in place, everything looked good, so started pulling things apart in preparation for the glue up. That was when the drain broke off the bottom of the sink.

Another trip secured a replacement for the 44 year old part and things went fairly well after that, except for one of the pipe sections slipping out of my fingers as I tried to remove it from the wall. To retrieve it, it was necessary to make another hole at the base of the wall. After that, the glue up went perfectly. The machine just went through a cycle and all liquids remained where they were supposed to be.

The best advice I can provide for sealing threaded PVC drain line couplings is to use vaseline on the threads. Its magic!

I know the feeling well!
Its been an un-frag week for me. I made the mistake of not using my standard towels for wipe-down along with a water based w&g remover... the combo left surface contamination all over. I ended up sanding most of it off, over 2 days to get back to flat, any way, I went back to my normal ritual today... and re-shot. It came out great.... rituals work if you dont short cut them. I missed about 10 fish-eyes, at least correcting them wont drive me to sepuku like the other day nearly did!

Living Room TV Wall reframed to double the wall thickness to accomodate flush mounting of the TV, Soundbar and Linear Electric Fireplace. Additionally, the cable box and WiFi Router will sit on a shelf inside the wall accessible via an access panel on the bedroom side of the wall.

Our dishwasher needed replacing so I installed this yesterday. It was a real pain in the butt!!! The flooring stops at the edge of the cabinet and the machine actually drops down a teeny bit and sits on concrete, but the dang counter overhang and tile hang down enough that I had to remove tiles and use a jigsaw to trim the overhang. A previous owner didn't give a crap for whoever would have to remove the old dishwasher and install a new one that's for sure. It was like the dishwasher was tiled in. I have the new dishwasher in place and everything is level and working and it looked like the door would clear the tile so I started putting the tiles back in place and now have found the the top of the door is just barely touching the bottom edge of the tile. So, I may need to pull the machine back out and just remove the leveling feet to drop it down a little because I have the feet run in as much as they will go. A simple project seems to always go sideways around this place!!!
