I found my rally quattro in a barn (red X on map) in the middle of nowhere surrounded by nothing but small towns. Lots of nice gravel 'testing' roads in the area. Owner was a farmer

I sold my dad’s XKE roadster to a farmer back in 1976. The car was 2 years old and I was 16. Most farmers are cool, salt-of-the-earth, hard working, etc. I’ve had a couple in my extended family and we used to own part of a tree farm. It’s just this talk of impressing the farmers BS where I get off the bus.

I've spent many holidays in South Pasadena at the Inlaws. Their part of town was built mostly in the 19teens and twenties, wealth families from all over the country now had easy access to this area by train, and many built beautiful homes in craftsman and other neat architectural styles. Many of those old houses have a carriage house in the back of the yard.
As I'm walking around those neighborhoods looking back at those old carriage houses can't help but wonder what classic old treasures may still be locked up in them.

Cheers Richard

Guy on earlyS registry went to middle of nowhere Montana to attend a farm auction where he picked up a 70S for a buyer in Texas, had some cool options for I think around 50K. It had some bad pictures (that MANY guys misinterpreted) of what looked like rust but was actually red dirt. Often you never know what people were into until they pass on and their surviving members have a sale. Was around 2012..

I do not disbelieve in anything. I start from the premise that everything is true until proved false. Everything is possible.
