G'day!
|
The past few days have been pretty brutal.
Running up to 120 degrees at around 5pm....the hottest time of the day this time of year in my area. Heat wave is supposed to continue for a few more days and then rain in the forecast. Nothing guaranteed, though. I just gave the Amazon driver two bottles of water. Gave my postal carrier two bottles yesterday. People getting it done.....every day heroes.......

Mid 80’s here which is normal. The real heat kicks in Aug-October. We will be in Vietnam early October for 10 days so not looking forward to the humidity.

The more I see the weather conditions around the country, the more I love this place. Clear skies and highs around low 80s. Haven't turned on the HAVAC for about a month.

My truck said 100° today but I was thinking it was low 90°.
Either way, it was hotter than a two peckered billygoat.🔥 |

For heat, I use, “hotter than molten lava” or the trusty, “Georgia asphalt.” Usually, I only get to use those expressions for woman out here, since the climate is so nice.

It has been unusually humid here for the last couple of weeks, not east coast humidity but way above average for SoCal. Right now it is 82 degrees with 59% humidity and it feels brutal in the sun, I’ve been in Minnesota when it’s barely 80 degrees and miserable.
The normal humidity here is about 25% and 85 degrees feels absolutely perfect. Why anyone would live somewhere with awful climate is a mystery to me unless it came with a spectacular business/income or something. |

Just came back home from a short bike ride 'round the 'hood this afternoon.
It was 90* when I started out. Short ride as it is not nice out in the sun right now. I'm sure my wife will be turning on the A/C any time now...

81F and sunny here in Charlotte, been like this the last 3 weeks anyway, a bit warmer earlier. Just a touch humid. The big yellow poplars are just starting to turn, first day of Fall.

This ain't the usual 'dry heat' we're used to hear in SoCal.

It's been a hot 2 weeks in SoCal in general but we're used to it having Summer start in September every year. June/July was really nice this year. Hardly broke 80º. |

Perfect day in this part of the country. We did a Costco run, Home Depot, food shoping at a giant asian supermarket, followed by lunch. We haven't used the HVAC since some time in May. I just stocked my firewood racks with about a cord of oak, getting ready for the cool weather. I think I've got about two seasons - maybe a bit more - of fire wood. It seems long term forcasts are predicting a fairly warm, drier winter.

66 right now! High 70's all week......possible sneaking into the 80's but if so will be low 80's. Nights will be in the 60's.....
Yeah now......

Looks like we’ll have good weather all week, after the rain from the storm, the past several days. Mid 70 + and low 60’s at night.
