Faakin' horrendous here in the DFW area with highs in the 106+ range for as far ahead as predictions go, and lows of 83-80 during that timeframe.
I'm having the opposite electrical consumption experience to Baz - started setting personal, for the month/timeframe records two months ago, and the billing cycle to follow the current one will likely be an all-time record high for me. It is nasty enough that I have adjusted my work schedule to a "mini deep nights" version (some work during day, then go home, then return for a few more hours starting at 9:00 pm. |

Been going up $200 a month for the last couple of months. Peaked last summer at just under $1k for utilities in one month. Prior to the freeze debacle and all the providers having to finance the debt the most I'd ever paid in 15 years was $450.

Holy crap! I am never complaining about my electric bill here again after seeing what you guys are dealing with! Here with this 2800 SF house kept at 77 F summer and 68 F winter (gas heat - also about $100 per month budget) the Duke Power bill runs just under $105. per month on the budget plan, equal monthly payments. Right now it is the hottest part of the year (through mid-September), today was 96 F and 70 % humidity. Winter runs about 40 -50 F, with colder periods thrown in.

Half that but with a pool. Built the house green but that’s now 15 year old green tech. Also living room at the back of house and and foyer /front of house have 25ft ceilings Middle of the house has balconies that open to the foyer and living room so really difficult to balance the zones. We also got hit with both a rate increase and additional surcharge to pay off the debt Coserve racked up during the freeze.

We got lucky, and I think we only saw a small bump in our bill after snowmaggedon.

I was cooking pretty well coming up from NC on the trike. It was 96 / 98 nowhere near as hot as the SW but no AC on the bike.

Yep, that's what Cali's got going for it, great weather 99% of the time. I've been in the LA area, and in the San Fran/San Jose area several times various times of the year and sometimes for several weeks at a time. I don't think I ever experienced anything other than fantastic weather. I was always closer to the coast than on the other side of the state. I don't think I've ever been to San Diego, although I have spent a week in Cabo San Lucas.

It’s been weird this year though,,, Usually I’m aware of what the valley is doing because my office is there. This year though I’ve been over there so seldom, I’ve lost track of other areas’ weather. I keep expecting for us to start getting some of this but, not yet. We’ll get some days in the high 80s and into the 90s during the summer. Rare but, it happens. Don’t think we’ve broken 80 yet this year. It’s surreal at times knowing what the Central Valley is getting when our microclimate is predominately moderate.

Man this is no fun. IDK how the deep south deals with this. I'm trying to build a small ground level deck for my new bike and I can't spend more than 1/2 hour outside.
