Get a window unit Byron - even if it's only a 5K BTU for under $200......you can run that to remove the humidity and drop the temps inside until you get your AC situation resolved.

I'm running my little window unit anyway just to reduce the load on my central system.

AC fixed, so I am good. I actually have a window unit in my office, but didn't think about it.

Overall, I'd say a cooler than usual summer here in the Willamette Valley. At least so far...

I was looking out the courthouse window around 11am this morning and saw some tourists making rookie mistakes for our current heat. Dad and at least one of the kids walking in some baking heat w lots of humidity wearing jeans. One kid was already suffering. Bet that's going to be a great vacation memory.

Since moving to FL 6-7 years ago, I have come to embrace the heat I hated the heat up north and needed an air conditioner and a fan on me at anything over 70 degrees. Here, our thermo is set at 80 and it feels cool. Yesterday, I think it was 95 and 90-100% RH (not unusual for this time of year) and I spent 6 hours in my non-airconditioned garage working on bikes and listening to the IMSA race. Sweat? Yes, lots of it. I was reading a medical report not long ago on the many benefits of sauna and the report indicated that the exact same benefits are attained by living in the desert or south FL and being outside in the heat for hours at a time. Nice cold shower afterwards and felt fantastic. Doing the same today - just got back from a 10-mile bike ride

I'm OK working outside and in my garage but have to take breaks periodically - let my head cool down!

I also have quite a few fans in different places, inside and around the garage, that I like to use. Having air movement really makes a huge difference, for me!

Got my utilities bill today.

$216.28 out the door.

Electric usage down from same month last year: 1,045 from 1,428 kWh

Bill includes water, electric, sewer, garbage pickup, taxes, yada yada....

Last months was $182.62.

Not too shabby......

We're looking at mid 90s temps for the next 7+ days here. So far, though, it hasn't been anything out of the orginary.

It is July, it is called summer. It is supposed to be hot.

We received 3.78 inches of rain last night, and 8.447 so far this month, and it is just the 11th. Way more than normal. everything is GREEN and growing.

The humidity is insane with all that rain. Heat index is very high. But hey, it is green and pretty outside. I really need to mow the yard, but it needs to dry up a lot first.

It is July in Oklahoma.

We're about half way in between Houston and Austin, so hotter and less humid than Houston, but cooler and more humid than Austin. My thermometer says it's 99º. But the Internet for the personal weather station closest to me shows the following.

Took this a few minutes ago. Wife just now turned on the A/C, first time in a long time.
We're about 7 miles from the ocean so there should be a sea breeze later on.
