It's hot out

I can see why so many people move out during this time of year.

It's horrible right now.

On Tuesday afternoon, the sweltering heat prompted weather warnings in parts of Central Florida.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for coastal Volusia and all of Brevard counties, where the heat index values were between 106 and 111 degrees. The advisory is in effect until 7 p.m.
Stay safe, folks!

vash 06-26-2019 02:20 PM

Wow. I wore a light down vest this morning.

Yup, I got out late this morning and paid for it. 100+ heat index.

I was fine, I try to drink a lot of water and sometimes a gatorade if I have a long day outside.

Tomorrow I promised myself to get out earlier.

Me too. It's currently 66 in Half Moon Bay. Typical summer day.

It's all because you guys don't pay a CARBON TAX like we do here in Kanaduh! Trudeau will save us Canadians from the effects of climate change.....YAY!!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Flush the POS Turdeau in October!!!

(PARF in 1, 2, 3.)

Sorry Baz! Didn't mean to derail your thread!

Yes, stay calm, cool, and collected guys!

BTW a nice cool 21C here in southern Alberta....

KFC911 06-26-2019 03:40 PM

It's a wet, thick, heat.....I remember :)

At least here there is typically relief from the humidity overnight and early ....not in Fl....hits ya full on at 6am....brutal :(.

Tobra 06-26-2019 03:49 PM

It is not the heat, it is the humidity

Sooner or later 06-26-2019 03:52 PM

It has been mild in Oklahoma. My high to date has been 96. But it has been wet. We have a chance at 100 this Sat.

It's actually both for the next couple of months...

I can take it...but not like when I was younger.

Jims5543 06-26-2019 04:09 PM

Baz, you use Frogtog's? Can be grabbed in any surf shop or online.

Makes it feel 20 degrees cooler out when I put an ice cold one on.

We pay a weather tax here in California. Upper 70’s. It is great outdoor working weather.

berettafan 06-26-2019 04:27 PM

My son has been at a baseball tournament around Ft Meyers since Thursday. has caught nearly every game and caught two today. Been lucky to have early games most days. Gets hot in that gear but he's a trooper!

Noah930 06-26-2019 04:46 PM

June Gloom, here in SoCal. Cloudy and overcast in the morning, but often burns off by mid-day to be a cloudless and pleasant afternoon. I'm not complaining, as I know it'll soon be triple-digits. Even with low humidity, 115 is still 115 freakin' degrees.

Rawknees'Turbo 06-26-2019 04:54 PM

It's probably the same in Florida, OK, and many other parts of the country, but what really sux here in North Texas is that it does not cool off at night (at least by normal standards) - this is a time period where it is common for the "lows" to be in the lower 80's, and I shiit you not, it is often above 90 well after midnight. At least there is only 4 months or so until a cooldown!

wdfifteen 06-26-2019 05:26 PM

So this is why we suffer through 4 months of winter and 3 months of tornadoes. 81 degrees this afternoon. Worked from 8 to 2, had lunch and hopped into the pool with an adult beverage or 2 or so until dinner time.

Only gloomy this morning here. High in the upper 60s, moderate breeze, and sunny this afternoon.

Jims5543 06-26-2019 05:53 PM

60's is winter here in Florida, we have bon fires, wear our long pants and sweaters and put on coats.

I personally do not mind the heat, 100+ is fine by me it has never bothered me. Drop into the 40's and hear me whine like a baby.

Here you go fellas, the hotter it gets the less they wear, this is a cam on Ocean Drive in South beach.

varmint 06-26-2019 05:58 PM

Balmy 70° today. Slight breeze off the lake.

What he said.

I heard it’s pretty hot in Germany, 93F. Hardly any A/C there, that sucks.

A930Rocket 06-26-2019 06:15 PM

I’m not sure if the heat yesterday or the BBQ I ate, but I feel like *****. Up all night making the mad dash to the head.

Yeah, yeah... you are used to it. You live in it, you get accustomed to what you live in.

I honestly like these 100+ index days, they seperate the boys from the men.

I experienced your June gloom. I was shocked and could not wait to get back to Palm Springs and the nice 100 degree days. My blood runs thin. I am used to hot.

We were unprepared for the temps in Sandy Eggo when we visited. Ended up buying ill fitting sweat shirts and blankets while in town.

I lived on the Space Coast for nearly a dozen years. Never got used to it.

astrochex 06-26-2019 06:57 PM

Teeny bit cooler today than yesterday. The garage however, at 9pm, is still in the 90s.

Filed under men from the boys.

It is not for the faint hearted, I work outside like Baz, I deal with it just fine.

I lived in Palm Bay from 85-92, Cape Canaveral from 92-83 then moved to West Palm from 93-95 and settled into Jensen Beach from 96 until now.

When I first moved from Long Island to here I was in shock, it took 2 years of surfing to acclimate me, now I am a honorary native. ;)

Being on the coast is Key as well, down here in Jensen we have a non stop trade winds breeze.

At least the Humidity is not 100% yet. Then it gets real fun.

LMFAO!! I am going to hell.

Scott R 06-26-2019 08:18 PM

Brutal in Denver today, I have my xk140 with me while I’m in town and I was melting in the sun.

Agreed, it seems the state of climate change is directionally proportional to the shat the comes out of his mouth..

LOL....me too :)!

Livin' in the south is the intro....no angels need apply.

It's in my DNA too...some just can't take the heat though....

rfuerst911sc 06-27-2019 03:18 AM

Lived in Orlando for 18 years so been there done that :D Yeah the humidity can be brutal it slaps you in the face coming from the AC . I've been in GA. now for about 9 years and while it can be brutal during the day in the summer it generally cools off enough at night to give some relief . Plus we are in the mountains so usually there is a breeze ............. every little bit helps :D

KFC911 06-27-2019 03:25 AM

Orlando counts....mountains in the south don't ;). I don't have a/c in my 911....haven't used it in a vehicle since.....since I left FL three decades ago :). Moved to Jax with a new Subaru with no a/c as a youngin'.....big ol' mistake! I wore a tie then too :(...

I forgot I lived in Orlando for 1 year, 1 year of hell on earth. It was insanely hot and still (no breeze) there, I had a temp job there with a telecommunications company. I was happy that contract was over and I was able to get back to the coast.

Orlando for 18 years? Sir, I bow down to you.

KFC911 06-27-2019 03:40 AM

If ya live in FL and have Beach in your location....all good! West of the ICW...just a few miles....unholy hell....it gets warm :(.

Orlando....I just can't imagine a worse hell....with tourist traffic ;)!

astrochex 06-27-2019 04:18 AM

My introduction to Florida humidity was walking out of the office building and my glasses immediately fogging up.

Best position in baseball - very cool!!!

See what I did there;)

Maryland has had the most pleasant Spring early summer I can remember - which means a mess in the late Summer, Fall.
