FBO where I took my lessons is planning a new maintenance hangar.
Bank is requiring a ground lease five years longer than the term of the loan.
Other than that, a fairly standard commercial loan.

I have a lot adjacent to my local airport on a taxiway.
Not residential, not commercial, just a hangar for me.
My banker said they would finance it as a commercial loan.

I don't want to borrow money.
I had quite a bit of cash when another real estate opportunity came my way, so that blew up my hangar budget.
Guess I'll stay happy at my smaller hangar farther away that I own outright.

Thanks, the different lenders I’ve talked to wants nothing to do with it. I’ve been told to take a home equity or pull from a 401K, both options I don’t want to do. I’ll probably wave as this opportunity passes by. The hangar has been out of lease for three years and our county is a PITA with regards to the airport. They truly think and have go on public record saying that everyone here is part of a special little yacht club. Mrs Bugs n I have been working hard to pay down the mortgage on the house.

The hangar idea was a thought.

A shot of Folsom Lake as we head to Stockton for some out of control shenanigans.

So you are supposedly stuck in that location?

That doesn't seem legal.

Check the transfer agreement (ie getting a better loan from another bank)..
And any early payments clauses..ie punishment for being a good citizen..
Fight bs with bs.

No.
Bank is just not willing to offer 20 year financing if the ground lease has only 15 years remaining.
Other than that, standard terms.
Makes sense.

Friend of mine sent me this link:

https://getpocket.com/explore/item/how-the-boeing-747-changed-the-way-airplanes-are-designed?utm_source=pocket-newtab

I am sure there are errors in the article, but I didn't know some of the details.

Been recovering the fuse and empenage on this scout, and nearing the end. I'd been posting the progress on the "what did you work on today" thread but here's what I'm up to now..

Bugs mentioned to post it here.

Thanks RS,

The folks here will really enjoy seeing your progress. As I mentioned in the other thread, your work is next level.

Here at Placerville, we have a solo operation doing restorations of classic birds. Ragtime Aero is the shop. Folks are waiting years to get their planes into him.

You guys are a limited resource in the aviation community. Thanks for what you do.

A buddy is getting his VE up to speed for a flight up to Idaho. Another friend is helping him get new wheel pants installed in hopes of getting a few extra mph/kts since he is the slowest of the bunch. But who am I to say anything about top end speeds since RR is still a hangar qween and isn’t up to scratch for the ID flight. There is an incredible canard support group at the Compton airport and it’s motivating to hear of the assistance he gets when there is a challenge. Mrs. Bugs n I are driving up to ID and it will be a solid 14-15 hour drive from Placerville. We are all attending the Rutan Brother’s birthday bash!!! His posse is a great bunch an guys and I look forward to seeing everyone. One caveat is that we will be able to pick up out 68 912’s 5-speed that was rebuilt at a shop in Bend, OR.

I need to do this same modification. I have the original football styled ones that I could use. In the end, this type of pant is what I want to install on RR.

That’s fantastic! Mrs. Bugs n I will be there. 15 hour drive for us. You going to the gathering on Friday night too? From our trip to Dr. Birds Aviation Museum a couple years ago when we visited Merica.
