Next Big war :
Get plenty of supplies
Go under ground
Turn your computer and phone off
Make sure you don't emit any signals
Pray that nobody shoots nukes.

It won't take long. Computers do things really fast and run 24/7 , they don't need rest.

Or, is it physically launched and recovered at some overseas base close to the mission area? It would seem impractical to launch an RPA from a base in the USA and then take many, many hours to arrive on-station for the mission.

Does the remote pilot execute the takeoff and/or landing? Or is this automated by the main flight computer/autopilot?

Finally, I understand the US Navy is deploying RPA/unmanned tankers to provide in-flight refueling for the manned, carrier-based aircraft....I wonder if any RPA/unmanned aircraft are able to refuel in flight? If so, do they connect to another RPA/unmanned, or a crewed tanker?
Friend of mine is over in the sandbox, he is drone pilot. He cannot tell me his location but its right on the border with Syria, so at the location with the drones.

He is "on location for a years time" then returns to CONUS for some R&R and returns when he is rested up.

What !!

https://www.faa.gov/5g
Disruption Risk to Aviation from 5G

Because the proposed 5G deployment involves a new combination of power levels, frequencies, proximity to flight operations, and other factors, the FAA will need to impose restrictions on flight operations using certain types of radar altimeter equipment close to antennas in 5G networks.

These safety restrictions could affect flight schedules and operations, affecting the aviation system. Before and after the 5G deployment begins, the FAA will continue to work every day to reduce effects of this disruption as we make progress to safely integrate 5G and aviation.
Collaborative Work Underway to Reduce Delay, Cancellation Risk

Approved radio altimeters will allow commercial aircraft to continue low-visibility landings in the 5G C-Band deployment areas.
The agency has made progress during the last two weeks to safely reduce the risk of delays and cancellations as altimeter manufacturers evaluate data from the wireless companies to determine how robust each model is. This work has shown some altimeters are reliable and accurate in the 5G areas; others must be retrofitted or replaced.

Die Hard anyone ?

There is a story of an ME109 sitting behind a wounded bird and emptying it's machine guns into it with no effect.

Another F-35 ...

https://taskandpurpose.com/news/f35-crash-carl-vinson-aircraft-carrier-south-china-sea/
An F-35C Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter had a “landing mishap” on Monday while on the deck of the USS Carl Vinson, injuring seven sailors, according to an announcement from the Navy.

The aircraft assigned toCarrier Air Wing 2 was conducting routine flight operations in the South China Sea when the incident occured. The pilot, who ejected, was recovered by helicopter and is in stable condition, according to the Navy.

Three sailors were evacuated to a treatment facility in Manilla, Philippines, where they are now listed in stable condition. Four others were treated aboard the ship, and three have since been released.

The USS Carl Vinson has been deployed to the region since Aug. 2021, it’s first such with the F-35C. The ship has been conducting exercises with the USS Abraham Lincoln, USS America, USS Essex and elements of the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force.

The F-35 aircraft aboard the USS Carl Vinson are part of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 147, based at Naval Air Station Lemoore, Calif. Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 314, the first Marine Corps squadron to deploy with the airframe, is operating from the USS Abraham Lincoln.

hmm...

Well that's Naval Aviation for ya. Even with the best planes there will be mishaps , especially on landing. Let's wait for the investigation, might just as well have been a mistake or failure on the boat. , like a wire that let go and slowed down the plane to the point it can't pull out after the wire fails.. it has happend before and will happen again
Also in what weather did this happen.. USN lands planes in weather that others won't even take off in.

No, not the C. not in the big carriers, Catobar
they can take more fuel, more payload on take off

the B hovers, but that's for smaller boats used by the USMC

I do find it weird that the Navy accepted a single engine plane for blue water operations.. That's a big change
