Cub holders, under that door in the center console. Also holds two golf bags in back.... laugh, but can a Porsche do that?

I am not a Corvette guy, but man if you are honest with yourself they are an amazing car.... and just about any Vette would eat my poor lil Porsche in any performance contest.

I agree on the side view being the best view, I could pick it apart from a design perspective for pages, but that would overlook how amazing it is as a package.

Maybe its done on purpose so those who fall behind have to witness it.

And agreed on the Panamera and Carrera GT. Unattractive both, to say the least, but I don't possess the same amount of dispassion for those cars that many give the Corvette. Interesting isn't it.

Corvettes have been damn quick for 30 years and they’re a hell of a bargain for the performance.

Still, every generation for the last 30 years has always had some feature that I couldn’t stomach. It’s a great car but...

A ****ty interior...

Or an ass end no one can like...

Or something...

So what has been your choice of poison for a few of the main sports car brands in the past 30 years?

I’ve owned about a dozen Porsches, a couple Ferraris, a Lamborghini and assorted performance sedans from half a dozen companies.

I’m mainly a Porsche guy, but I don’t like their current offerings and I’ve sold off all of my early cars.

And which of those cars have you really liked? Never found one or two faults with any of them?

Most cars have one thing or another I don’t like 100%, but none of the ones I owned had ugly interiors, like the current Corvette and none of them had cheap and nasty quality interiors, like some of the previous Corvettes.

And Chevrolet hasn’t been able to design a decent looking ass end on a Corvette in decades, not something I typically found in the cars I owned.

Styling is enough for me to say no.

It does not scream Corvette, but a cobbling of Camaro, Ferrari, and NSX. The Corvette is no longer unique. Interior is too busy too. Looks like it would be a nightmare if anything went wrong inside.

Just to clarify:
Speaking of, the 2020 Stingray makes 490 horsepower – 495 hp with the optional Z51 Performance Package – which is a considerable jump over the 460-hp LT1. There is some disappointing news for row-your-own enthusiasts, however. That power is handled exclusively by a new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, though you can still swap cogs at will with paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. And yes, it still goes exclusively to the rear wheels. What does this mean for performance? Actually, it’s pretty darned impressive. When equipped with the aforementioned package, Chevrolet says the new Stingray can rip to 60 mph in less than three seconds."

More:
What About The Corvette's Engine And Transmission?
As speculated, the Stingray is fitted with a 6.2-liter V8 derived from the LT1 used in the current car. It's called the LT2 and actually, it's quite a different animal. With the Z51 Performance Package the engine develops 495 naturally-aspirated horsepower, and it sends that power to the rear wheels exclusively through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic. Sorry manual fans, but you can still control cog swaps by hand through paddle shifters on the C8's steering wheel.

Looks like the 495 hp Z51 performance package is the one doing 0-60 in under 3. I have no problem admitting I'm wrong if someone can show me where the two articles I quote above got it wrong.

Something that also fits into the thought process if I’m to be honest, putting my issues with looks aside, I’m not interested in being one of thousand on the highway. I like being the only vintage 911 in town. Not because I wanna be noticed but because I like special things whether cars guitars or whatever. There’s nothing special about a corvette. It’s like my Cherokee around here. Every other car is a Cherokee or a corvette. For a DD truck I don’t mind. For my fun car, I’m not interested in being a part of the herd where the only thing unique about your car is your aftermarket rims and exhaust

And yes Geronimo the new 911 (922) has cup holder and I’m sure you can stuff golf clubs in the back and I’m positive the new 911 would blow the doors of this corvette without blinking, in every category. And should the 911 lose to it in a drag race, who cares. That’s not performance in my opinion. Any car can be made to go fast in a straight line. It’s the other stuff that wins races and makes driving fun

My son and I both noted those two models. I don't recall which exotic he thought it resembled but it wasn't Ferrari.

That's part of the conversation my brother and I were just having about it. I said it will never reach the iconic level of the 80's 911 simply because there will be more of them out there. It'll become sort of "ho hum"

THIS I can sympathize with. And there is nothing wrong with that. But for people to arbitrarily say they don't like this one aspect of the car and ultimately making it not worthy of being considered in similar (similar = tens of thousands of dollars more) competition is ridiculous.

I'm sorry, this one feature is so hideous it would keep me from buying the car. If you can stomach it, more power to you. Buy one and enjoy it.

I appreciate the incredible bang for the buck in a Corvette, but never sat in one and said, oh yeah, this will be mine.

I care more about the view from the driver's seat than what the poor souls I have passed are forced to look at.

I feel the same way about this car. Surely designed by Lego.

Someone with my frame appreciates that the Corvette is made to fit tall guys.

It is part of the car's design as there are some rather tall engineers on the team.

I liked the C7's interior, I drove one.

it just felt like I was sitting surrounded by too much tech.

I ended up going back in time and buying a C5.

Commonality does not concern me.

When I see another Porsche 944 when I'm in my 944, I get excited.

When I'm in my 'Vette, and see another 'Vette, I get excited.

When I'm in my Jaaaag, and see another Jaaaag, I get excited.

When I'm in a Toyota Camry rental car, and see some other Toyota Camry...I get excited.

I notice whatever I'm driving if I see another, be it rare or common.

Not seeing another of what I'm driving over sustained time can cause a bit of disappointment.

Freak, oddly enough MT thought the C7 GS bested the Porsche 911 S on the track, but NOT the drag strip for an odd roll reversal. The C8 is well ahead of the C7, so I am not so sure the Porsche will fair any better, we'll have to wait and see.

Is the Porsche the better, I guess that depends on the metric you measure by, and the internet will argue that one until we are all force to ride in autonomous cars.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbtoXMOiqtQ

I mean I get it, I drive a 911, well I did when it wasn't broken lol. But I also can acknowledge when other brands make a great car...
