Of course Porsche and Audi are looking at trucks. They're getting starry eyed over the people dropping almost or over $100k on a truck and want a piece of that pie. It's the same reasoning that Porsche gave for the Cayenne in the first place. They polled their sports car buyers and found that they owned an average of 3+ cars and the cars not Porsches were 4 door sedans, big SUVs, and trucks.

Brilliant! But corner balancing might be a real P.I.T.A.

He can laugh at me too. I do use my truck for hauling tools and supplies when I need to. If I didn't have any work and the tools were put away, I'd still drive a truck. However, I do NOT like the newest trucks on the lot. There is no need for a front end that is supposed to be a subliminal reminder of a Kenworth.

These young entitled contractors that crowd the parking at the lumber exit of the home store only to buy a box of nails seem to love their 'Peterbuilts' and 'Kenworths'.

Them oversized trucks are a joke with Euro fuel prices.. they guzzle fuel like nuts at any speeds over 100 kph.. so you always see em poke around on the left lane.. doing barely 110 kph and blocking traffic... obviously not carrying anything in the back..

They don't make any sense around here. to much mass for stop and go traffic and narrow roads..
In Europe we have vans for builders and hauling things.., keeps your stuff dry and tools out of sight and behind locked doors.

Milt and Dan:

You guys can whine if it makes you feel better, but I'm laughing at guys who drive fashion trucks, not guys who actually use their truck. I think people who are afraid to scratch the paint in their truck bed are just funny.

My rig for work, which I drive maybe 3 days of the week:

Otherwise, if I don't need to haul around a bunch of steel for no reason, I drive a car. Because it's lighter and makes a lot more sense to me:

As for why there are few trucks and cargo vans imported to the USA from Europe, look up the "chicken tax" and the retaliatory tariff placed on trucks from Europe by the US. Or watch the Youtube video by Doug De Muro.

Yeah but a TOTALLY different demographic. Cayenne owners are consistent with 911 owners. The average owner of a domestic full size truck doesn’t own one of those silly little furrin cars.

Drove trucks for 25 years as a electrician, sick of them.
Had several of my own too, crew cab dually's even.

Last 15 years I'm all into wagons and use them like trucks.
Strap stuff on the roof, let stuff hang out the back when hauling.

Keep my fishing SW poles and gear in them 24/7.

Current ride is a 2004 Mercedes 240C wagon and a 1996 Passat TDI wagon.

Drove LA to San Fran to pick up some 356 Porsche bumpers and wheels
40+ mpg in the TDI with a 25 galling fuel tank.

When I need a truck just call a buddy, they all have pickups.
