I also want to point out the financial impact of this storm before there is no damage.

Yes, Home Depot, Publix and gas stations are having record business, normal day to day businesses, not so much.

I tried to push through a normal work day today. I gave up at 2 pm, everyone closed today, Friday. Keep in mind the storm will not hit for 4-5 days and most of the east coast of Florida shut down.

We were trying to get as much done as possible and honestly gave up.

We called a home owner asking him to give us access through his guard gate so we could do a pool deck form board location. He started yelling at my receptionist telling her how stupid we were to be working during a State Emergency and would not grant us access. We told out crew to skip it. It will be 2 weeks before I even try to go to his job again now.

The idiot above with the 10 five gallon home Depot buckets is a perfect example of why there is no gas anywhere. Because people like him feel the need to take 50 gallons in one go. Why? Why do you need 50 gallons of gas?

Not defending him, but maybe he has a large freezer with lots of food in it, a gasoline powered generator, and doesn't want to lose it all if the power is out for a week.

The models shifted the storm further east overnight. I am even seeing cones of doom shifting in response. This is looking like a Hurricane Mathew all over again

It is holds true, we will get tropical storm winds here, the nasty cat 4 stuff will be offshore.

Still shuttering today and as of right now hunkering down. We have a whole house generator with plenty of food and water.

I will show you guys a neat topographical feature concerning my property later.

Yes, I am losing sleep over this one full of anxiety. Slept 5 hours last night.

On top of all this my escape vehicle that we call our battle wagon has a drive train issue I thought I figured out but didn't. I changed out front wheel bearings last night. It is still making a concerning ticking sound and there is a popping sound too. Thinking drive shaft is shot? Once I am done shuttering I will turn my attention back to the FJ.

So if we do leave it will be in the E30 now since I do not want to push it with the i3.

I hope the FJ issue is something simple. That is adding another layer of stress I do not need.

This mornings new track projection has it turning north to pass just offshore of Fla. with a possible landfall in N Gorgia or South Carolina. At a diminishing strength as it travels northward.
Hopefully the evolving track will continue to keep it offshore.

East coast Surfer's are licking their chops at this development.

Still a lot of weather to be dealt with, just not the distruction of a cat 4/5 landfall, whew.

Andrew was reported as a Cat 4 at landfall and was only determined to be a Cat 5 after the fact. If it’s a 4 or 5 it doesn’t really matter - it’s going to be really, really bad. Even a Cat 3 is nothing to trifle with. It isn’t really the wind anyway it’s the rain, flooding, water / food / fuel shortages, power loss and scumbags looting and stealing stuff afterwards that are the real potential problems with any of them,

Maybe FL will "get lucky" but even if the eye stays offshore it means the storm will stay stronger for longer and the coast will get flooded really badly.

Sounds like it’d be a good time to go on a couple weeks vacation somewhere really far away!

It's the only we get waves in jersey. We had a group of guys that cut class whenever a big storm was off of our coast in the fall.

Spaghetti Models does a Facebook broadcast each night. Thursday night he taught me so much and everything he predicted came true today.

The cone of doom is still forecasting a north Florida brush, the models show it 70+ miles offshore. Much relief, praying it keeps turning and is a fish storm.

I’ve seen that loop-dee-loop storm track (viper green) happen over the Space Coast years ago. We got hit a couple of times by the same storm. What fun.
