I’m waiting for the dock and lift guys to give me a quote. I have 90’ of sea wall. I can go 10’ deep and 65-70’ wide. Since the docks are poured in place i want as much as I can get, unless the price is just to out of line. The existing dock and lift are in poor shape, I’m not sure of the capacity of the lift, but I’m thinking it’s not worth saving.

Used, new is to expensive for what I’d like.

The Yamaha 250's are about 23K a piece. The older two strokes get about 1/2 the gas mileage as the current 4 strokes - and are noisy.
The new evinrude 2 strokes (direct injection) are nice - but they are not cheap either. Definitely want outboards in that part of the world (sandbars everywhere)

One of my FIL's neighbors has a Grady White centre console.
Would be a big step up from his Lund! Good luck and have fun with the search!

Here's a nice Pursuit 3070 Offshore I came across while researching my long dreamed of move to your neighborhood. https://www.thehulltruth.com/boats-sale-wanted/1074289-2002-pursuit-3070-offshore.html I know center consoles get most of the attention for fishing boats, but the Offshore gets great reviews for fishing and comfort. https://www.sportfishingmag.com/boats/boat-reviews/pursuit-3070-offshore/

Ocean boat
My wife had an uncle (now deceased) that lived in Florida with water access to the gulf. One thing he always stressed was the importance of having at least two engines, preferably three. Back when he and his family were boating, there was a lot of drug running and piracy going on so he looked around and found about a 35 foot cabin cruiser with a kevlar hull. Very strong and virtually bullet proof! Plus, with the engines it was equipped with it would run 40 mph or better! After one trip, he and his wife were pulling the boat back home and a traffic accident caused the boat and tow vehicle (Suburban) to flip over. The Suburban was totaled and a lot of the upper structure on the boat got wiped off but the hull received almost no damage and was rebuilt. I always thought it was a pretty cool setup!

Had to delete my post from yesterday, pics were sideways.
You need one of these bad boys. ![]() Stick Steer for increased fun. ![]() Add this kicker back there with the other for insurance when you hit the big water. ![]() When you have fished the ocean clean, use this to haul the load to the house. ![]() Fish on!

Looked and sea trialed a 25’ pursuit center console yesterday. It was in very good shape and ran well. But no room in the head, the wife’s only requirement.
I thought it might work, it was priced right and had a lot of extras. The guy selling it worked for a dentist and has been unemployed for 4 weeks. Said something had to go. I gave him a little cash to cover the sea trial, I should have checked the head first. Thinking I may have to look at some of the walk arounds to keep the wife happy.

I haven't read all the posts so this may have been said? The three boats you posted are all very capable off shore boats. The Grady is the best all around of three. Based on your wants and needs from your first post look toward the Grady. The other two are purpose built fishing boats. Designed to get to the fishing spot fast catch fish and get home. Minimal creature comforts in general. The wife and family will not be very happy on those two boats all day. The Grady has more creature comforts, a nice cuddy and head.
When shopping myself or advising I generally lean toward a well maintained used hull that needs to be repowered or sell off the old engines and repower. There is a big market for used outboards. The hull in theory will last forever if properly taken care of. It is also the cheap part of the package. I personally like the New Evinrude E-Tec over all the rest. It is a modern two stroke and has many advantages over the four strokes. Four strokes only became popular due to emissions as the EPA targeted the two stroke. Evinrude has managed to make a two stroke meet the EPA emissions standards. The E-tec has two stroke torque to get the boat out of the hole and on plane faster than a four stroke. GPH is also equal or better than a four stroke and best of all operating costs are much, much lower with an E-tec. None of the four stroke maintenance is required. No oil changes, no tune ups, no periodic maintenance intervals. The E-tec can run years with out major maintenance or parts replacement. Budget about $25,000.00-$30,000.00 for an installed ready to run 225-300HP E-tec. Good luck happy boating. |

Here is one that might interest you if doing a little fixing up is is a possibility for you.
A 24' Grady White. Two Yamaha four strokes, trailer. $15,500 https://panamacity.craigslist.org/boa/d/panama-city-grady-white/7114139735.html This is a 26' older Grady White. That hull looks really good to me, nice rise and flair in the bows. https://panamacity.craigslist.org/boa/d/perry-grady-white-four-strokes/7114071658.html Found a bit newer 28' walk around near you. https://sarasota.craigslist.org/boa/d/bradenton-2003-grady-white-282-sailfish/7108881354.html Cheers Richard Last edited by tevake; 04-28-2020 at 07:09 AM.. |

And finally a cat of interest
https://sarasota.craigslist.org/boa/d/new-port-richey-glacier-bay-2780/7092702832.html That's one you should go take a look at, it's hard to understand the space available in these catboats without going aboard. That overnighting ability could expand the use of the boat. Lots of outer islands , sandbars, and backwaters to explore in your area. Did you notice it has Air conditioning There are quite a few listed on Boat trader. https://www.boattrader.com/boats/make-glacier-bay/page-2/ Can you build a roof over your boat lift to get covered storage?
