WTF? This was posted, I believe, as an example of how to get around a difficult situation. But it seems to me that the difficult situation should be eliminated, or maybe the whole thing should be incased or something.
![]() ![]() LOL ![]() ![]() ![]() I've seen an article about this. A teenager put googly eyes on an outdoor sculpture (a great addition, I think), but apparently, the surface finish of this OUTDOOR sculpture is apparently so fragile that removing the eyes damaged/lifted the finish which has caused the teen to be charged. I believe this was in the UK. Crazy!

![]() This meme is not entirely true (go figure) Its a photo of the Vanderbilt Motor Parkway (Long Island Motor Parkway) Only a small portion of the road was incorporated into the ROW of the Long Island Expressway, much farther east in Commack/Islandia There are remnants of the road all over long Island.. Some of the Toll houses exist still as private residence's.. numerous overpass exist in Queens, and a greenbelt exists on part of the ROW.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Island_Motor_Parkway ![]() ![]() Ebbets Field ![]() Yankee Stadium and Polo Grounds

It would be interesting to see why they have exposed copper pipe. Why isn’t it in the wall?
That said, at least it dressed it up a little bit at the base. Quote:

It might be a burl located on a branch.
Caused by bacteria, fungi, bugs, damage, etc. Like a tree scab. https://biologyinsights.com/where-does-burl-wood-come-from-the-science-explained/ They're turned in bowls, knife handles, tables, and all sorts of pretty things. Valuable actually.

Maybe I should take my electric pole saw to work, cut one down, and open it up. If you hear the Mount Pleasant man, dying by aliens, it was me |

![]() ![]() American Irv Gordon, a retired science teacher from Long Island, New York, earned global recognition in the automotive world by setting a Guinness World Records title for the highest mileage ever driven in a single privately owned car. His vehicle of choice was a cherry-red Volvo P1800S, which he purchased brand new in June 1966. Over more than five decades, Gordon drove the car relentlessly—on daily errands, long road trips, and cross-country adventures—accumulating over 3.2 million miles. That staggering distance far exceeded normal vehicle lifespans and equaled traveling around the Earth many times. He crossed the three-million-mile milestone in Alaska in 2013 and continued driving the Volvo afterward, maintaining it meticulously on his own. Gordon’s unwavering dedication earned him admiration from car enthusiasts worldwide and became a powerful testament to both his love of the open road and the legendary durability of the classic Volvo. Although Gordon passed away in 2018, his record—and the extraordinary journey behind it—remains one of the most iconic stories in automotive history. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I bet it was a photoshop gag. I've seen the original of this and the guy in the boat is just standing there. Pretty funny, though.
