http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1631636667.jpg Oklahoma was granted statehood on November 16, 1907. It was the day that the area went dry as prohibition was written into the constitution. Only beer with 3.2% alcohol was considered "non-alcoholic" and could be sold then. On April 7, 1959, Oklahomans went to the polls and finally repealed the prohibition. NOT liquor by the drink, just it would be legal to go to a booze store and get liquor. https://www.okhistory.org/publications/enc/entry.php?entry=PR018 It was not until the 1980s that one could get LEAGALLY a drink at a bar or restaurant. Bootlegging was as common as illegal drugs are today across the country. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1631642431.jpg |

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DC31VGMXgAAHN-3.jpg Actually, I've seen a youtube video by a guy that does woodworking that said that the price of wood is about to drop back to "normal". His video said that wood futures were at $300 pre-covid. At the peak of the wood issue, they went to $1700, and they just recently dropped down to <$600. He had spoken to "people in the industry" that said that it usually takes 60-90 days for retail to "catch up." So in theory, wood prices should be more reasonable in the Halloween/Thanksgiving time frame. The explanation provided was that the wood mills/industry thought that they were about to have a huge drop is sales, so they stopped/slowed production. Then it turned out that they actually had an increase in sales and had to ramp back up. There was more to it than that, but that was the general idea. Fingers crossed that he was right. |
