Yep, that was my dad's reaction when they promised him a promotion to full bird and the Pentagon. He just retired instead.

He said he saw personally a Full Colonel washing the table linens and setting the tables as his "duties".

Dad was never there more than TDY duty.

My wife's turantula molted yesterday. Very interesting how they pull their legs out of the old exoskeleton, plus other parts. This is the third time he's done it, so he's probably going on four years old. He's not very big & really mellow. They have to take some time off to let their exoskeletons harden. This includes their fangs.

I prefer Dr Pepper. I once spent a month in the Irvine area for work. I often tried to order Dr Pepper at lunch or dinner. I only ever found one place that had Dr Pepper. Every place else had Mr Pibb.

Try ordering sweet tea at a Ruby Tuesday's in Tom's River, New Jersey. Come to find out, it can't be done. SmileWavy

Sweet tea is, I'm pretty sure, pretty much only readily available in the southeast.

My family recipe is 2 cups of sugar per gallon of tea

The only time that I drink it is when I visit my mom, and the only time that she makes it is when I visit. But when I was growing up, it was a staple at home and my mom's family who are all southern.

C'mon now. There's a perfectly pleasant mall in that image - and the walk from the L'Enfant Plaza neighborhood to Crystal Plaza is great on a nice day.

Generous people too. I spent $5MM of their money in 100 microseconds a few years ago. I think that works to $180 trillion/hr

Yeah, I didn't realize that. After the waitress left, some people at the table next to us leaned over and said, "Are you guys from the South? We've never heard of anyone ordering sweet tea before!". It's like were we from Australia or something.

Here in SW WI tri-state area it is available sweet everywhere and I have to request it unsweetened.

A property owner cut his neighbors garage in half with a Saws all because it intruded over the property line.
