Goodyear ZNPK-28 Blimp Control Car - "Gift of Goodyear
The Museum's control car is from airship K-28, one of 134 K-category airships built by Goodyear in Akron, OH between 1938 and 1944 for the purposes of anti-submarine patrol and convoy protection, mine sweeping, search and rescue and photography.
Post-WWII, Goodyear purchased and converted six K-class airships including K-28, along with seven L-class airships, from the Government to resume its fleet operations. Renamed the "Puritan," it became the prototype to test a programmable light display system to be used to display advertising. Due to the weight of the light system, the interior was stripped of all none-essential equipment. -

The 1932 Talbot 14/65 Boat Tail Tourer was made from Honduran mahogany.

Back in the old days before radio stations became monopolized,
performers toured to promote record sales and radio play
which they made money from.
But they didn't make much from the concerts.
Nowadays, it's just the opposite.

Great brakes, but very bad tie down skills. He failed to tug on the straps and say that is not going anywhere!

They are similar to bamboo to get rid of except that they are not nearly as tough, so much easier. But any little bit of root/rhizome left in the ground turns into a new plant.

I would have liked to have some black elephant ears.

We're trying to stick to mostly native plants at our new house.

The Temple of the Moon is one of Machu Picchu’s best-kept secrets. Located on the backside of Machu Picchu, explorers must descend approximately one thousand stone stairs to find this stunning precision mortarless white granite temple built into this mountainous cave.

Strangler Fig Tree (genus Ficus): One of the most remarkable hemiepiphytes is the towering strangler fig tree which starts life as a tiny seed in the canopy of a random tree. The roots grow down to the forest floor where they take root and begin to take nutrients from the soil. Gradually the roots wrap around the host tree, widen, and slowly form a lattice work that surrounds the host's trunk. The fig's crown grows foliage which soon overshadows the tree. Eventually, the host tree dies leaving the fig with a hollow trunk which is easily climbed thanks to the many openings in the trunk. Figs sometimes help anchor tropical trees during bad storms and are often the only tree species remaining after forest clearing, since their knotted and twisted wood is shunned by loggers.
