This is the turbo supercharger system in the P-47. Many aircraft engines used mechanically driven superchargers, often connected directly to the crankshaft, with multiple compressor stages and two-speed transmissions. Conversely, some designs incorporated turbo-superchargers, powered by exhaust gas pressure. Turbo-superchargers, having numerous advantages, didn't require direct coupling to the engine. For instance, the turbocharger in the Republic P-47 fighter was a full thirty feet behind the engine, tucked away aft of the pilot in the rear fuselage.

That's what AI thinks a 1970 BMW X7 might have looked like.

Yep, some of the AI imagined stuff is pretty cool.

Here's a chart that includes a bunch of characters that can be created that way.

I never went too a single school that was air conditioned.

I have to assume it was to get GIs to waste ammo on the scarecrow or dummy.

I thought the sepia was so people didn't copy and print it. Nope, when I got it the sepia was very dark, like furnt orange dark. The poster is not pleasing at all. I wrote the guy and asked about that and he told me that he thought buyers would like the 'old' look.

Well, it was way too dark so I threw it away. $25 down the drain. Just letting you know. It's a great photo.
