 Belted QF 2-pounder "Pom-Pom" 40mm shells being passed up from the shell room to a gun platform on the Tribal-class Destroyer HMS Ashanti in November 1941 QF 2-pounder rounds were 40×158mmR, which were shorter than the Bofors 40x311mmR round. IWM - Ware, C J (Lt) Photographer  One less buck in the rut.   A not-so-little visitor at the campground at Gorges State Park making changes to the appearance of the trailer.

Saw this yesterday. At first, I thought, I haven’t seen a roll bar on a truck like that in a long time. Then saw that it wasn’t even real.

   In the past anyone that looked at the top statue instantly knew it was art. The bottom statue is only appreciated by people with an degree in art, and they are the people that proclaim the bottom thing as "art" and not a pile of trash, made by people that call themselves artists.  USS PILLSBURY. Members of the boarding party from USS Pillsbury (DE 133) secure the tow-line to the bow of the captured German submarine, U-505. Because the sea was sweeping across the deck amidships, the men of the boarding party were forced to hang tightly to a guide wire running from the conning tower to the bow in moving forward or aft, June 4, 1944.
