Another variation of this idea uses a 6th stroke as a steam/diesel engine. No radiator or cooling system required.

Indeed, the test unit has no external cooling system—no water jacket, no water pump, no radiator; nothing. It does retain fins because it came with them, but Crower indicates the engine would be more efficient if he took the trouble to grind them off. He has discarded the original cooling fan.

Preliminary estimates suggest a Crower cycle engine will use roughly as many gallons of water as fuel.

Someone created a sculpture out of shipping containers, calling it the Sleeping Man. It has been installed on the eastern edge of Marfa, Texas between the UP tracks and US 90/67 where they are about a 1/4 mile apart. The locals are not amused.

One Of Boating’s Most Iconic Photos
In a best ever PR stunt, a mild-mannered Bostonian sat stoically in the stern of a small boat that was being cut in half with a lumberjack saw while Life Magazine’s photographers captured the unreal scene. The headline for Life’s May 1961 followup article read: “A Man in a Pickle, Unthinkable…Is Not Only Safe But Unsinkable.”
Back in 1958, Dick Fisher had the brilliant idea of melding two space-aged materials; fiberglass and expanding polyurethane foam. Fisher clamped an innovative and stable 13-foot fiberglass triple-vee hull and deck together. Then, leaving a hole at the bow to pour in the volatile foam brew, and others for gasses and expanding foam to escape, the concoction filled all the voids to create incredible strength - and literal unsinkability.
Evinrude Capped Off The Stunt Fisher then fired up his Evinrude and circled the sawed off stern of his boat around Life’s slack jawed photographers. Of course, he selected an Evinrude. You wouldn’t want to blow the entire stunt with an outboard that wouldn’t start. Sales of Fisher’s “Boston Whaler” skyrocketed, and an “Unsinkable Legend” was born. And, of course, Evinrude continued thriving quite nicely as well.

A lonely job. Waiting all alone in the dark for a trip[?] to come through. It was so damp that Willie said he had to go to the doctor for his cough. A short distance from here, the gas was pouring into the mine so rapidly that it made a great torch when the foreman lit it. Lives at 164 Center St., Pittston, Pa. This is Willie Bryden[?], a nipper. Been working there 4 mos. 500 ft. from the shaft, and a quarter of a mile underground from there. Shaft #6 Pa. Coal Co. Walls have been whitewashed to make it lighter. Jan. 16: I found Willie at home sick, His mother admitted he is only 13 yrs old; will be 14 next July. She said 4 months after the mine boss told the father to take Willie to work, and they obtained a certificate from Squire Barrett. The only thing the squire could do was to make Willie out to be 16 yrs. Willie's father & brother are miners and the home is that of a frugal German family. Location: Pittston, Pennsylvania.
