1958 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa

The 1949 Mustang on display at an unknown local department store.
It was built in Renton, Washington by the Mustang Engineering Corporation and came out in January, 1949, almost a year before Volkswagen came out with the Transporter/Bus.
It had a 4 cylinder Hercules 59hp engine that got 25 to 35 miles per gallon.
It had a 6-Passenger, rust-proof, aluminum body and could cruise at 65mph.

Electrical engineer Charles D. Fawcett setting the initial conditions on a differential analyzer¹ programmed to integrate van der Pol's differential equation² (March 6, 1935). This analog computer was built in the basement of the Moore School of Electrical Engineering³ at the University of Pennsylvania and was used extensively in the computation of artillery firing tables prior to the invention of the ENIAC⁴ digital computer, which, in many ways, was modeled on this machine. A differential analyzer is a mechanical analog computer designed to solve differential equations by integration, using wheel-and-disc mechanisms to perform the integration. It was one of the first advanced computing devices to be used operationally. The original machines could not add, but then it was noticed that if the two wheels of a rear differential are turned, the drive shaft will compute the average of the left and right wheels. Addition and subtraction are then achieved by using a simple gear ratio of 1:2; the gear ratio provides multiplication by two, and multiplying the average of two values by two gives their sum. Multiplication is just a special case of integration, namely integrating a constant function. The Moore School is particularly famed as the birthplace of the computer industry.

These trucks in the Route 66 city of Tulsa, Oklahoma are being loaded with motor oil at the Mid-Continent refinery. This photo has excellent resolution. The photographer was John Vachon in 1942 during World War II. This refinery is still there today, connected to downtown Tulsa by the original Rt 66 bridge on Southwest Blvd, the new Southwest Blvd bridge, the I-244 bridge, and a railroad bridge.
This photo is courtesy of the Library of Congress.

1930s Gulf Gas Station. Likely the owner, the manager, and the employee that does the work.

Man! That little evaporator set up is wasting a lot of heat! Yes, they have the sap feed line wrapped around the stack. If they wrapped the entire stack with feed line, it would make better use of their wood.

What are we looking at? Based on your comment, the only thing that I can think of is something for the processing of maple tree sap into syrup?

I have to say, I've never processed any sap into anything, but seeing this thing glowing red from the heat doesn't seem right. As you say, seems like a lot of heat that doesn't seem like it's accomplishing much. But maybe I'm wrong.

That's probably the best way to heat/cook 2 full pizzas, although I'd be concerned about stuff dripping off of the pizzas and then having to clean the oven later.
I don't think PDR is going to fix the tailgate.
