Lump (pronounced “loomp”) was a Dachshund who belonged to the photographer David Douglas Duncan but ended up living with Picasso for many years. The name “Lump” means “rascal” in German. Duncan brought Lump to visit Picasso in 1957, and the little dog immediately formed a bond with the artist — so much so that Lump stayed and never went back.
Picasso adored Lump and featured him in several of his artworks, including interpretations of Velázquez’s “Las Meninas”, where Lump appears in place of the original dog. Duncan later published a book called “Picasso & Lump: A Dachshund’s Odyssey” with photos documenting their life together.
Lump is considered one of the most famous dogs in art history — especially among dachshund lovers!

Wow, that is an expensive car loan.

What does it take to leave a stadium in stunned silence, with thousands of fans forever remembering a single moment? On May 22, 1963, Mickey Mantle gave the world an answer at Yankee Stadium.
That day, in a game against the Kansas City Athletics, Mantle faced pitcher Bill Fischer. With one powerful swing, Mantle sent the ball soaring toward the right-field facade, a part of Yankee Stadium that rarely saw action. The ball struck the upper deck with such force that it left fans, teammates, and even the opposing team in awe. Mantle's hit became one of the most legendary moments in baseball history, symbolizing the raw power and extraordinary talent of one of the game’s greatest players.
This iconic home run wasn't just a display of strength; it was a reminder of why Mickey Mantle was a revered figure in baseball. His ability to deliver in crucial moments made him a hero in the eyes of many, and this particular hit on that spring day in 1963 remains etched in the memories of all who witnessed it.What does it take to leave a stadium in stunned silence, with thousands of fans forever remembering a single moment? It doesn't crawl... it glides like a ghost.
This bizarre creature is a Limacodid caterpillar — sometimes called a “slug caterpillar” — and it’s one of nature’s most alien designs. Found in Southeast Asian rainforests, its body is flattened, liquid-like, and covered in transparent bristles that resemble fiber optic wires.
But don’t be fooled by its beauty.
Those fine-looking hairs? They can inject venom that causes intense burning or swelling. It’s a defense perfected by millions of years of evolutionary pressure — one that says: “Admire me… but don’t touch.”
And beneath its glassy appearance lies a transformation in progress. One day, this strange crawler will vanish… and emerge as a moth.It doesn't crawl... it glides like a ghost.

No matter how much research is done on the flora and fauna of our world, there will always be things that amaze us. Such is the case with the Scaly-legged Snail, also known as the Volcanic Snail, which is the only animal in the world that has iron in its skeleton.
This clam, also known as the Sea Pangolin, uses iron to build its shell and generate metallic scales that cover its flesh, essentially becoming a snail with a metal armor, making it the only living being with these unique features.

Apollo survival kit. Each Apollo mission was equipped with two rucksacks providing equipment to allow for crew survival for up to 48 hours on land or in the water after landing. This is one of two rucksacks flown on the historic first lunar-landing mission, Apollo 11, in 1969. It includes three water containers, one radio beacon with spare battery, three pairs of sunglasses, six packages of desalter chemicals, one desalter kit, two survival lights, one machete, and two bottles of sunscreen.

Astronaut John Young the only person to have piloted, and been commander of, four different classes of spacecraft: Gemini, the Apollo Command/Service Module, the Apollo Lunar Module, and the Space Shuttle. And he walked on the moon as well.
