Officials say a rat 'over 22 inches long from nose to tail' was discovered inside a home by pest control workers.
The statement adds they do not believe it was a "one-off."

So you have badly worn bearings? After you installed the pressure gauge did you have any more instances of the thing cutting off?

It probably wasn't a "rat". It was probably a nutria or something like that. Some other rodent that looks like a rat but gets bigger than a regular rat.

I don’t have a formal diagnosis of what’s wrong.

No more instances of low oil pressure since I installed the pressure gauge but I also bumped up the idle. At idle, I’m now at about 18 psi. At 1500 rpm and 60 mph, I’m at 30 psi.

I’m not sure when I will install the engine. I’m thinking I will wait till cooler weather, but I’m also thinking of driving it until something happens. That said, there’s $1000 core charge and if I drive it until the engine blows up, I don’t want to risk losing that $1000.

Here's "The Beast", a movie car that was featured in the 1975 film "Death Race 2000".
Built on a modified Volkswagen chassis, it was designed to resemble an alligator.
The supercharged V8 engine is a prop because the car was powered by a Chevrolet Corvair flat six engine.
