This is the engine from a French Leclerc main battle tank, the V8X 1500 hyperbar diesel V8. This engine displaces 16.5 litres (1,006 cu in) and is coupled with a gas turbine engine (seen on the right side of the engine in the image). The gas turbine functions as a suped-up turbocharger, forcing air into the engine at much greater pressures than convetional turbochargers - hence the name "hyperbar". The gas turbine can also function as an auxliary motor to power the tank's systems without the main engine running. The V8X-1500 produces up to 1,500 hp and 4,850 Nm (3,780 ft lb) of torque. It has suffered from some reliability problems, but these have reportedly been solved

This tiny fungus photographed in Taiwan is believed to be Mycena subcyanocephala.
Its blue color only appears in the young stage, making these pictures an extremely precious observation.

The Volkswagen Auto-haus Nordstadt dealer in Hannover, Germany, had a very creative director back in the 1970s and 1980s named Günter Artz.
In 1973, Artz built a Porsche 911-powered Volkswagen that caught the attention of many people, leading him to establish his modification business ARTZ, a subsidiary of Nordstadt.
To create this Volkswagen Mr. Artz combined several vehicles. It started with the body of a VW 1302 (flat glass), the chassis of a 914 and the mechanics of a Porsche 911. While the car was being manufactured VW launched the 1303 (round glass) Mr. Artz then decided to put the roof from the 1303 onto his project. To achieve that factory “look”, almost everything on the 3 platforms was modified, 1000 hours were used in welding alone! In the end the result was a Volkswagen 1303 “mid engine” with 210hp and a 5speed in a chassis that could keep up with the best sports cars of its time.

That would be fun to show up to Porsche car club and drive that.

I feel the same way about photographs that have the saturation levels pushed to unnatural extremes. Look pretty but just as fake as AI!

Newly built F4U Corsair and F6F Hellcats being prepared to be shipped to the Pacific theatre, USA, 1944. On October 1, 1940, the XF4U was the first single-engine US fighter to exceed 400 mph. Not only was she fast in a straight line but also in a dive too, attaining speeds of up to 550 mph.

When we lived in Japan, in the winters there were often periods of weeks where you didn't see asphalt because there was a layer of packed snow, ice, and slush on the road, and I believe our cars may have had chains all around (not just the drive wheels). But I could be wrong, I was just a kid. We also swapped to snow tires in the winter full time. I think the first time we lived there (late 70s) we actually had studded tires in the winter. But I think the second time we lived there (mid 80s) studs were verbotten, and we used snow tires and put chains on as needed (which usually meant that I was out putting chains on the car with/for dad).

Maybe the house is for a Geometry teacher!

They mess with my (and probably others) head and are not pics.
I think it will be smart to allow them because they'll improve our critical thinking skills.

Pick your response:

1. That can't be real!

2. I approve of this photo... especially because it includes women with high levels of beauty/hotness.

3. I don't care to guess if this is A.I. produced... first world problem.

4. Do some more like that and add women with high levels of beauty/hotness.

Define "picture".

A picture to me is pretty much any file saved as a JPG file. So memes and Photoshoped photos are pictures. It is like saying you don't want to see special effects in movies.

This is an experimental grove of trees, deep in the foothills of the Sierras, that was planted long ago by people at UC Berkeley. My understanding was that it was to study tree growth in relation to planted distance. And while it goes unnoticed from ground level, from the air it becomes one of the most unique sights in the forests of California.

I feel like you would notice something from the ground similar to driving down a road and noticing line after line of perfectly aligned trees. I see those lines (granted, radiating out from the center) in this photo. I suspect in the center, you might be able to spin around and see them all which would be cool.
