There are SO many different beers now. The topic was Summer Beers, so for just plain old summer cold beer, I choose this. BTW........my son is a certified Cicerone, big know it all, runs a 40 tap craft beer store. He said drink this when it's hot.

Finding ones that you like however can be challenging. IDK if they're bad or not, but if I don't like one, I REALLY don't like. Not like a "meh". More a "blech, cough, ack, my tongue...". Berliner Weiss is an easy drinking low alcohol sour. Like a 3.5%ABV shandy.

Weizenbier is NOT to be drank out of bottles, you fools.
And PBR is not tasty. Anything > 5 ABV is also not a summer beer, unless you want to be having a nasty headache from dehydration and too much alcohol. That said, I have sworn off alcoholic beer. I have searched low and high for a decent N/A. Try this, it is better than the PBR: G |

That's why you should never stop at one. Have to keep hydrated!

If you drink Miller Lite it's like drinking water and beer at the same time. It's like a 70/30 split. 70% water, 30% beer.

I used to hunt with a guy who was a brew master. He worked at Budweiser before turning craft brewer. He said they would process the beer at high concentration to save valuable processing space and then in the end water it down before filling it according to product: Bud would get some water, and Bud light would have a big water pipe come in. Ugh!
Honestly, I don't get light beer. I'd rather have a single good beer and drink water after. Or, again, just stay with a decent N/A. Strangely you never drink a sixpack of those in one sitting! ![]() G |

In the 70's my fav and only beer was Bud. Thought I would never like anything else.
A few weeks ago, I bought a Bud 6-pack. (just to compare) One was enough. That stuff is crap. How do they survive?

^^^ Same here. I'm only a half-state away and I can't find it.
No idea how the conv. store carried it. The beer distributorship in MI is complicated.

Oklahoma changed the liquor laws last October. I can get cold beer at the convenience store, grocery store or liquor store and whatever alcohol percentage is sold.
I have my local convenience store order the Erdinger Dunkle when it is available. I am hoping he can get the Marshall Dunkle anytime.

Sam Adams has a seasonal called porch rocker and it is a radler style beer. Light and refreshing. When i was stationed in Germany we would order a diesel which is a Hefe with Coke. pretty good and the radler is a lighter style beer with seven up. They sound weird but they are pretty good.

For summer beer it needs to be clean, fresh and no chewiness.
I like Hefeweizen best, Ayinger is good with a good dose of the banana/ clove Weiheinstephaner yeast. I have a Maui Brewing beer in the Helles style that’s really good. I think it’s called Longboard Lager. I don’t mind Radler but the pre mixed stuff tastes like Bartyles & James. Radler should be a nice lager mixed with a sparkling lemon soda, served in Franconia and Bavaria to bicyclists in the summer along with Spetzie which I like for a non alcoholic drink. |
