last time i looked into my wallet a moth flew out. my resident moth would hate those new fangled plastic ones.
my wife bought me a Coach wallet. bi-fold. simple black. it is tough and tattered. i sent it thru the laundry, because it's "me". its almost time to buy a new one...i go between Tumi and Coach. it lasts a decade with me.

Ridge I carry in my front pocket. No more lower back pain from sitting with one butt cheek higher than the other.

This cue case maker also makes wallets...some of exotic leathers. Elephant hide wallet anyone? How about alligator? Sharkskin might be cool..

Hmm, maybe one of these modern rigid models with an elastic strap will work for me (rather than needing a zipper).
Wow, they aren't cheap!

I take my wallet out and put it in the cubby under the radio in my 911, do those hard looking ones rattle? If so that is a hard no for me.

Steve,
I load it up with the cards I need but don't use a lot (ATM, AAA, Corporate card, etc) in the main compartment and then put cash, my DL and my primary Credit Card under the strap.

I’ve had a few fancy wallets, including one of the CF ones from CommonFibers. It was cool but it was so damn hard.
I recently switched back to my All-Ett and I love it. Super thin, soft leather, and carries everything I could need. Super cool that it has a pelican tie, albeit a sad one. |

I also have a Ridge wallet and love it. You don’t sit on it as it’s meant to be carried in a front pocket. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

It is elastic that creates spring tension to hold the two metal plates together so your cards won't fall out, the little pigtail makes it easier to retrieve from your pocket.

Mine stays in my back pocket and I forget its there. I used to use a trifold, but it kept getting to much crap in it. This helps me keep minimal junk. a few cards and some cash in the clip. Took awhile to get used to it, but now I will never go back.

Dango Products. No affiliation.
Saddleback Leather. I too prefer front pocket. Both are available in Amazon. I also have a Gerber money clip with a small knife. |

I've been using my Improv wallet for years. It's actually one of their prototypes (my friend's company). It's very slim. There's nothing to go wrong with it. It just works. Comes with RFID plates as well.

Thickness is a relative thing. My old tri-fold nylon wallet, iPhone, current eel skin.

Trifold from Ghurka.
20 years old still looks new. Have a spare but it doesn’t look like I’ll ever use it. |

Good point by Scott on thickness being relative...
Here's one I've been thinking of... https://nrastore.com/nra-5-in-1-rfid-blocking-wallets

Stopped carrying a wallet 30 or so more years ago.
Last decade or so I carry a combo wallet cell phone case. Has room for DL and i carry 1 CC and 1 Debit card. No one really needs to carry more than that. All other cards are in my Apple Wallet on the phone. I get the Burkley leather cases as they have a magnetic plate that lets you separate the phone from wallet. https://burkleycase.com/collections/leather-iphone-11-pro-cases/products/carson-magnetic-detachable-leather-wallet-case-for-apple-iphone-11-pro?variant=29415884750900

For some reason, my gf likes buying me LV wallets. I have the brown monogram, grey damier and red epi. They get pretty damned thick with all my cards (club cards, AAA, CC, ID, SBX...). I decided to take out some cards and am down to 2 club, 2 cc, 1 debit and ID. It feels much better.

Last time out, maybe 6 years ago, I needed a new billfold. So I went with Tumi. This is the one I got.
