HVAC Blower help

It's a Rheem.

Can I get the blower motor out without having to remove the coil?

Many thanks!

Directions here, installation instruction PDF: https://www.gemaire.com/rheem-rhal-fr30pjb05a417-2-1-2-ton-front-return-air-handler-up-to-14-5-seer-psc-motor-5-kw-heat-breaker-float-switch-rhalfr30pjb05a417

Says to loosen the screws and tilt down the coil. Never seen that before, blower usually more accessible.

The suction line doesn't seem to have much to give, discharge might let it drop far enough. The motor is banded, which I might possibly remove with the assembly cockeyed.

I have the coil very well protected. Any suggestions are very welcomed.

Thanks!

Yes, let's back up.

Why are you removing blower motor?

I'd probably cut an access in the side (if it's out of warranty) before risking a re-charge of the system.

fan motor if the problem should be 1/2 or so the size of the squirrel cage fan

worst case may need a bit of moving bits but never seen a unit that required the evap
to be moved just the fan detached from the shaft and bolts to free the motor not the whole motor fan and outside casing as a unit as the motor alone is far smaller

It would not be under under warranty because the installer had a great idea which caught the blower motor on fire! Family. That isn't much of a concern, he bought a new one, I get to put it in. When he left after Christmas he thought the coil had to come out.

It doesn't. The manufacturer is spot on, but my unit mounts in a closet and the only way to remove the blower assembly is take the unit all the way out, unless I destroy the house. No access to the side screws in step 8. Tight corner closet, might as well renovate the bathroom too!

Step 9 is a no go because of step 8. The motor is out, had to remove the band around the motor, disassemble, and it barely squeezed out past the liquid and vapor lines.

Now I have to put it all back in, including cutting the shaft on the new motor. It's a bit long to fit.

Thanks!
