Tiger was one of those guys who took the game to new levels--remember sitting in a bar when he was a rookie and the whole place would watch when he was at the tee. Guys like him , Babe Ruth, maybe Jordan take the sport to new levels.
He took the game to people who weren't much into it before. One of a select few in any sport. So hes had personal issues -- doesn't change his impact on the game. Sure his personnal life is -was flawed. Funny how the media sort of protected the Babe ---modern guys not so much. And they do it today regardless of your color, creed, sport or hair style.

He not only change the game but actually affected so many lives. Because of the Tiger phenomenon whole industries like golf equipment, golf apparel, golf instruction, etc. all changed and prospered dramatically. Because of Tiger Woods thousands of new golf courses popped up around the world each lined with fancy new houses. All this creating many thousands of jobs on a global scale. He made much more of a difference than Nicholas in golf or probably any individual in any given sport. Its a damn shame he started self destructing years ago. His dad wasn't the best influence nor were his bad boy NBA buddies

From recent reports of a run in with a director from "Grown-ish" it seems he was probably just in a heck of a hurry and got careless.

They both had higher levels of risk acceptence, and the cars and tracks were safer for each. How many crashes were these two in that if it had been a tree lined F1 track of old, in a F1 car of old, would have been career or life ending? A lot of those in the older days that were greats never racked up the win count or championship count because they were dead.

The article was good yet depressing in that it highlights struggles/demons we don't understand. He's got them. Glad to read he cherishes his kids. That counts big time.

People have accidents every day and many of them are issued citations. Having an accident doesn't disqualify someone from criminal and/or civil culpability and thus the possibility of subsequent charges. Maybe what they are trying to say is "No laws were broken, therefore no charges will be brought."

People worship others they wish they could be like- whether it's sports, looks, music whatever. After awhile people start thinking they know that person and a bond is created. When loss occurs, it's like a loss of someone they actually knew- but they didn't.
Some go so far to stalk said person- Listen to "Stan" by Eminem as a good example. rjp

Because that makes even less sense. People "don't mean to" do a LOT of illegal things......and are summarily busted for it 24/7.

I'll bet most in the Ft Worth black ice episode were cited for failure to maintain distance even though it was impossible to stop.

If you are speeding or run a red light and get pulled over for it, you get a ticket. You don't go to jail. It is a civil infraction. If you run a red light and hit a pedestrian and kill them, you have committed both a traffic infraction and the crime of vehicular assault/homicide. Without proof of Tiger's speed, a criminal charge of negligent driving is probably not possible. So Tiger broke traffic laws. He committed civil infractions. He didn't break any criminal laws (without proof of his speed). And his intent is irrelevant. A driver is liable regardless of intent. The question is whether the driver committed a civil infraction or a committed a crime. If Tiger's accident had harmed a pedestrian or passenger, he'd be charged with a crime.
