That's useable.

Cell data is always going to be a bit all over the place for a variety of reasons but for the most part if you get a good signal where you are it should remain relatively consistent.
Right, our signal varies a bit, but is fairly stable. And depending upon what room in the house I have the device, I'll swap from one RF band to another. I think our location is midway between two slightly overlapping towers.

What if you use your cell phone not connected to your wifi?

LOL, I haven't had DSL since the 90's.

Back then I was rocking it, dual 256k bonded for 512.

State of the art, at the time.

I will update once we receive the unit.
We just signed up also. Should have the box next week. Also in the boonies.

I'm in one of the 7 major counties comprising metro Atlanta - but it's not available in my area.

My first home internet connection was 28.8k. When it doubled to 56k I thought we were at the speed of light. My first DLS was 1.5 mg download.
ATT said in 2019 they were shutting down DSL soon (I was at 5 meg) so I signed up for their Fiber Optic 300 meg (I get about 200-225) and it cost not much more than what you folks are quoting for 25 meg. Granted this land based and not mobile but if you are using it for your home look and see if Fiber Optic is in your area. It is rock solid reliable.

The t mobile offering and Starlink are absolutely essential.

Many here expressing interest can’t get fiber much less coax.

The cost to run to remote homes exceeds what the provider could ever hope to recoup so if it hasn’t happened for them yet it likely never will.

Even in densely populated areas your choice for providers is limited to only a couple if you are lucky. Many are stuck with a choice of one and local politics does not allow for competition.

These solutions offer a way around prohibitions that prevent new networks to enter the market.

Federal FCC regs supersede state and local regulation by ensuring consumers have rights to receive OTA signals.

While not as mature as traditional broadband even in their current states provide enough bandwidth for the average consumer at reasonable rates.

It’s a pretty big, welcome, and necessary deal.

I hear you however Cox cable quoted me almost $5k to run cable from their nearest pole and demand I pay for a business package 2 year commitment nearing $300/month to enjoy their services. Haha no thanks.

Folks that are looking into those solutions are doing it because there is no hard wired solution, DSL, Cable, fiber, all not available out in the country.

Signed up for a test run. I'm not expected to get the equipment for 2 or more weeks though...

Has anyone found a good indoor antenna? AntennaWeb shows I'm 37 miles from the source, and need a "Violet - large directional w/pre amp"

I may change, again, but I am very happy with the MoFi Network router in 4G. Compared to satellite interwebs, iit is blazing.

You guys who have options are incredibly lucky. Our options are Cox, which offers up to 1 GB and is expensive, and ATT UVerse which is up to about 15 MBPS. We had ATT and were getting 5 MBPS on a good day, now on Cox on a 150 MBPS plan but it’s costing me $120/mo plus we typically hit our cap at least twice which is $10 each time. Unlimited is another $50/mo. I’m told that Cox has some sort of exclusive deal with the city which ultimately means the people get dicked.

At least you have multiple wired options. Until just recently, we only had 1 option at our rural property, cell phone hot spot. We just (as in this week) had starlink come available in beta (there will be short periods of outage...). You could probably use cell, but it's unlikely to be an improvement over what's available.

So Cox is $120/mon for just Internet or is that cable and Internet?

The primary reason they are looking at this is because they already know there are no other options for them.

That’s just Internet. We used to have them for both and it was well over $200. Dropped back to YouTube TV which probably saves us $50/mo. I hate Cox, they are sheisters that ratchet up the bill a few bucks each month until you waste a bunch of time to call and complain.

Well we received our T Mobile equipment tonight and our speeds are 26 down with about 5 up... not a drastic improvement over our Verizon plan! Latency seems better.... we are going to try it for awhile to see if it’s more dependable.
