Some of you should be writers for Hallmark cards.

Live, Life, Love...

Life is a gift. I truly respect that.

The Golden mean: Moderation in everything, nothing in excess.

A positive mental attitude is vital. When someone asks the standard thing of "how ya doing" don't just say, OK. Reply FANTASTIC, and say it with enthusiasm. Keep saying it and you will know it is true. Don't hang out with negative people. Stay positive.

I am fortunate, I have no aches and pains. I have a rare mild headache, and two aspirins will fix that. A good hobby, or 5 or 6 hobbies and a love interest is very important.

"Eat healthy
Stay active
Maintain personal relationships
Put a few bucks away for your retirement "

That's good advice. Although I spent a few years treating my body like a combination amusement park/chemistry lab and still turned out OK. Which leads to this little tidbit of advice:

"Forgive yourself for bad behavior. "

"Happiness is a choice that you have to make every single day.
So is love. "

This is so true. Great advice.
Another thing that comes to mind is, "Respect yourself." Find that spot between self confidence and arrogance and live there.

That sounds just like one of my mentors, Harry Wilmoth. I'm going to his funeral on Wednesday. I try to remember every day to be more like Harry. You could write a book about him. I suspect the church won't be able to hold everyone who will be there.

Wilderness hiking for 50 or so years provided me with the physical and mental strength to survive the hard times.

Learn to enjoy and find the beauty in the little -simple pleasures of life.
Moderation in all things .

Don't put off too much for tomorrow --my Dad wanted to retire at 62 ---died at 61- He delayed a lot of things for a retirement that never came.

Exercise both body and mind.

And above all be kind,.

Another thing.

Now that I'm in my sixties I've decided someone else can do the worrying. It turns out all those sleepless nights worrying about the economy, exchange rate, gross domestic product, didn't make any difference.

With each passing year that gets more and more difficult. Probably has something to do with 26 years of marriage.

This advice is better suited for the younger generations but just like when I was there age, it usually falls on deaf ears

1) An old saying goes: "If I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself". No truer words.

2) Bad habits are easier to prevent than to break.

3) Save save save, live modestly and bank all you can. Learn to invest wisely. Retire young.

4) Structure your life so you can live well in retirement.

For most of my life I was in a hurry. Go go go.
I don't live like that any more. I haven't been in a hurry for a while and it feels good.
I don't have to worry about stuff, I just do what I feel like whenever I feel like it. It's nice.
looking back I should have retired earlier.

Most industrious people end up with enough money to retire on if they avoid divorce.

But if you married wrong, get out of it. Don't waste your life.

The more you know the more you forget
The more you forget the less you know
The less you know the less you forget
The less you forget the more you know

Such is the logic of this life.

Retire as early as you possibly can and enjoy it while you are still vibrant.

1). Don't sweat the small stuff.
2). It's all small stuff.

Okay, one more:

At the end of the road, we don't regret the stuff we did as much as we regret the stuff we didn't do.
