Now this one is stuck in my head, but somehow, it's the DB version, not the one that you posted. Probably just what my brain is most familiar with.

Yep, wow, definitely the best version posted yet.

Those old guys are good. They should consider doing that professionally. I just hope they gave credit to whoever originally did it.

I would give an appendage or organ to be able to make music, play an instrument or something. Since I don't/can't and I'm not interested in trying to learn at this point in the game (kudos to Livi!), I'll have to continue to enjoy the work of folks that do.

does this count as a great cover?

Another song that's been done and done and done is "Summertime."

Well...what we hear on the "original recording" is not really what Simon and Garfunkel recorded. If I remember the story correctly (and I probably don't) Simon and Garfunkel recorded the lyrics (and maybe Simon's guitar) and then sort of ignored it. Some session musicians somehow got a hold of it and added the drums and the rest of the instruments to create the version we now call the original. All without Simon and Garfunkel's input. The rest is history...

Bob Dylan was late for a recording session so the producer started playing this track of two guys singing (the failed Sound of Silence cut off the album) for the session musicians sitting around waiting on Bob and the session guys added what we hear now as the “original” version.

The track sounded so good they released it as a single and it shot to #1. Simon and Garfunkel reunited and cashed in on the popularity and cranked out another album really quickly...

The session musicians were part of The Wrecking Crew. One more classic hit that they
were part of.

The original was from a soft porn movie.

Absolutely. I've not listened to tons of their stuff, but I've always been impressed by what I've heard.
