Cool action diorama- looks like brown cotton or something to mimic flying sand?

Speaking of dioramas, has anyone heard from RKT? If memory serves, he was having health issues and his last log in was May of last year. His dioramas are beautiful too.

It suddenly occurred to me that in real life a pair of CHP's will forever be Ponch and Jon.

Nice, what scale?

1/43 scale, I have hundreds of them. I would love to collect a ton of 1/18's but unfortunately I have no space for them.

That is my problem also. I have a bunch of 1/24 scale NASCAR diecast cars that belonged to my brother-in-law and I don't have the space to display them at the moment.

A very informative video. Note the use of a mini spot welder.

- I would've replicated the Chassis, original suspension & wheels but overall this guy is really talented.

What type of "welding " setup is the builder of the 250 GTO in the video using?

Finally had a little time.
Made a little hanger for painting small parts and painted the wheels gold. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...962fa2f4a9.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4f6a262519.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8d4c580a69.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4b75253893.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a2938f21f0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8380dc4682.jpg

Doing a little detailing, getting it all ready to go back together soon. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4899d2f91f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...683b124a40.jpg

This was chrome, model car chrome is always way to shiny and doesn't look real. Tip, use a little black wash to tone down chrome parts and to highlight details. I use black Tamiya Panel Line Accent Color for this very thing. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3396ae1636.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c0ebb57a29.jpg

Finished the Countach rebuild. I got this model and put it together sometime in 1999 and built it straight out of the box without doing anything to it. It had a molded in color gray interior and a few chrome parts that just made the model not look correct. A few years after building the model, I decided to take it back apart and detail a few things and I painted the interior light tan and it stayed this way for many years and was boxed up for many more years. I guess it was just a couple of years ago I took this model and several others out of mothballs and cleaned them up and thought, ya know, a lot of Countachs' had gold wheels, and so I decided to refurbish the car again and change its look with gold wheels and a dark tan interior.
So, today I finished it. This is a 1/24 scale Testors/Burago model kit with a pre painted die cast body. The pieces basically press fit together and the body and chassis are fastened together with two screws. The model dates back to 1992, but I originally purchased and built this model in 1999.
Here are some pictures, the first three pics are what the car used to look like, then a couple of reference pics and then the current finished car. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...db4bf1288a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a9792a6753.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...10f6508065.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d0d0f505a7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3873579c2c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5d9af1221d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8f10411b9c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...58b511c2e3.jpg

I painted the wheel hubs and lug nuts silver. I used a Molotow chrome pen to make the outside mirrors. I also painted the taillights the correct configuration but I don't really like the reverse lights. I mixed up some white and a little silver to paint the reverse lights but I think they are still too white looking, kinda impossible to make them clear. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...29243bccd6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...26ea6d1351.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4fd9b1172c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...eef4ad4924.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7af691f159.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e732c3d3f0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...011ebd81c2.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...13f3c66df8.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...56d1410dcd.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8bf2aba23b.jpg

Okay I just can't leave things alone when I think something can be better. I took the Countach model back apart and added a little more detail. I was looking at pictures of the interior in a real Countach and saw that things like buttons and ashtray lid, pedals, foot rest in the passenger footwell were black. This model had those details but everything was chromed. So, it comes back apart and I finished out the interior pieces to match a real car. I also got another Molotow chrome pen, this one is smaller with a 1mm wide tip, the larger one that I have has a 4mm wide tip. I had painted the wheel hubs and lug nuts silver but wanted them to be chrome so I used the 1mm chrome pen for that. I also found some testors rubber paint and painted the intake hoses.
Oh yeah, I made a magnifying tool also. I used a soldering iron holder/stand and attached a small magnifying glass to it with a binder clip, worked out pretty good. So, here are a bunch of pics. I think I am finally satisfied with the Countach. This was a "Level 1" model that I think I took it up a few levels. Lol. Here are a bunch of pics, hope y'all like it. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...be012f4002.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7696ae6bd7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...1820b35332.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d65a269c97.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d9d8771483.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5e9bc63aea.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ab6fc730d3.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c091b154aa.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...52e654efe1.jpg
