I built this P40 when we lived in Destin, Florida in the late 70's so I was about 11 or 12 years old. I painted everything except my Dad painted the pilot. It used to have propeller blades but they got broken off over the years, I kept up with them for many years, heck I may still have them. It looks kinda rough, and you can see a black smear on the underside at one set of guns, but I built it and have kept it all these years because my Dad helped me with it, so,it has always been special to me.

I built this 1/4 scale VW engine while I was recovering from back surgery.

There is a thread about the build here:

Been practicing freehand airbrush on stuff I printed. Did the pyramid for my wife since she is really into them. And sci fi stuff.

The blending is much more subtle in person. Camera really has a lot more contrast than it really has.

I like the Skylark but the mid 70's Opel and '57 Ford seem to be aiming to a fringe collector demographic.

Maybe that's why they were in the .75 cent bargain bin at my local grocery store.

My nephew's son is having his second birthday soon; I decided to get the little shaver onto the Model Car and Collectable road with the always tried and true, ever popular VW Bug and Bus.

One of my exoto cars was missing one of its intake trumpet screens so I made one using a pressure washer intake hose screen. It has a nice fine mesh that matched perfectly. I just bent it over the dull end of a drill bit and squiched it with pliers till it was rounded and the tail fit in the hole. Elmers glued it in.

Purchased these 2 at a flea market today.
The Duramax 3500 I got for $10.
The Campbell soup truck was $25 and still in the box.

Just sold one of my exoto's really just dont have enough cabinet space to display all the 1:18 cars. But I really would rather have an XK-SS so maybe I will have to make room.

My 1:43 collection (80% Minichamps) circa late 90s. 1500+ at the peak of the sickness. I've long since sold off all but maybe 30-40 of them. During the early days of eBay, the prices on some of these were insane. I sold a few at over $1500

In the 90s I ran a well-known 1:43 diecast website. It started out simply as a way for me to sell and trade models on-line. This was early days of online buying/selling and eBay. The website got popular and eventually I had manufacturers sending me models for review and collectors around the world helping me. The growth quickly got out of control. I was just doing this for fun in my spare time after running my engineering practice and I had to shut it down. Thanks to the Wayback Machine, some of the website is still viewable.
