Our rescue Lucky, had her kittens under my bed yesterday. Two healthy kittens, one all white and the other a grey tabby with a large white bib. Mom and kittens seem to be doing just fine.

The kittens are 10 days old now. They have their eyes open, though I'm not sure they can see; or maybe they can see and don't know what to do about it. When they aren't sleeping they are squirming and randomly moving around, not quite able to walk on all four legs without wobbling and crashing into things. But most of the time they are sleeping.

We have almost decided to keep Townes, based on his looks and personality. We aren't yet sure whether he is a boy or a girl, but Townes will work for the name either way.

We strongly suspect Aretha is a boy, but at this age it's not easy to tell for sure.

Did I mention they sleep a lot?

Sleeping. Again.

Here's another minute of zen for you. Relax and watch 10 day old kittens do what they do when mom is taking a bathroom break. Smokey is the largest and most active and aggressive. Levon never shows is face. Aretha just wants to sleep, and Townes seems to want to go his own way.

They are very cute little puff balls. The wife says that ours look likr tribles, from Star Trek. Ours, known as Meow Yin and Tink, haven't opened their eyes yet, but stumble around just like yours are. It is pretty fun to watch. They have grown a lot in the past week.

They are cute! I hope you can keep them. Fixed, of course. You live in the country, right? So they’ll be in and out, controlling rodents and exasperating their mom.

Not that it matters to you, but this simple act of kindness has raised my opinion greatly.

I'm not sure about keeping all five. At first we planned to just keep Mia around, then I kind of (sort of) hinted that Townes was kinda cute and maybe ... now MrsWD is thinking of keeping Aretha too - and not changing her/his name. If a tom cat can live with the name Aretha he's all right by me.
All of them are getting fixed before they go anywhere.

Matt - congratulations on the opening eyes. MIT is the next stop for her!

JYL - yes they are very cute. You want to pick them up and want to hold them and squeeze them until their little eyes pop out, which I understand is not good for them.

Taking a break from all the polemics and posting some kitten pictures. They are 15 days old now, and beginning to get rambunctious. They play furiously for a minute or two, then fall asleep.

Aretha is trying to wake the sleeping Townes.

After battling each other for a minute or so they take a break before falling asleep.

Levon woke up long enough to get his picture taken, then went right back to sleep.

This is what they're up to these days when they aren't eating or sleeping:

We didn't know the sex of any of the kittens until a few days ago. He got named Aretha the moment he was born. Turns out he's a male. I'm not changing his name.

Very modern. He'll probably grow up to be the cool kid cat - gender fluid etc LOL

Weekly update on the kittles.
They are changing fast now. Up to almost a pound each. Their eyes are fully open, the little bear's ears they were born with are becoming more erect and pointed, and their muzzles seem to be elongating a little.
They are voracious eaters and attacks Mia as soon as she enters their box. She spends a lot of time outside the box taking breaks from all the sucking.

Townes developed a viral eye infection yesterday. The vet was able to see her this morning - a miracle! Got some ointment and she's on the mend.

Here is a minute and a half video of kittens playing, in case you have too much stress in your life.

How old were they when you started handling them ? We haven't yet due to Lucky being protective of them. They turned 3 weeks yesterday.
