Guys - I think you are missing the point here. The lack of respect here is quite disturbing. A fellow Pelican passed away. Please show some respect instead of dancing on his grave.
I don't care how many aliases he had, how many times I disagreed with him, nor how many times he needed a trip to ban island. The man has passed away, and I am saddened by this. Any more inappropriate comments will land you on Ban Island for a month. No exceptions. I'm leaving this thread open for others to share their sadness and fond memories of Randy.

Aw man. I'm super saddened by this latest news.
Dr. Webb was one of those rare smart guys who did not have the "need" to wear his high opinion of himself on his sleeve like so many others do. What he did do was let you know exactly what he thought of you. He did not talk about his "need" to judge others because frankly, he didn't care. He let loose his opinion of you with unfettered impunity. He didn't do the "some say this", or "everyone else agrees that". He didn't talk about how much higher his "character" was and of what you need to do to gain his high opinion. He just let loose with whatever he had to say. And that is why I will miss him. We did go back and forth quite a bit on our disagreements but and least I enjoyed our 911 tech threads. Those tech threads are, at least on a tech board, the measure of your worth more than "Jeff says" or So and So agrees with me........ |

As I alluded earlier, RWebb's sudden departure is certainly "felt". I think part of that is the wish that he had posted something prior, for closure if you will.
