Car lock
On my 86 944, I can lock the door with a key but I can not unlock. Any suggestions?

How about my other lock. It opens fine from inside but I have to really pinch to open from outside. |

My antique house door lock is like that. Over time the keys wear and the pins wear and they don't line up one way due to beveling of the pins. A bit of it might be the old key and the grooves. The shift of torque from one way to the other applies just enough pressure because of too much clearance. That's a good theory. Repairing it is more of a certainty.

Update, I had some lock lube In garage. It fixed the lock. I decided to try the other side as well. Like new.

This happened today to my house dead-bolt keyed lock.
Lately it had been very difficult getting the key in and then turning it was worse yet. I didn't have any graphite on hand, so I ordered from Amazon some 'Houdini 4-Way Lock Lubricant'. One short spray into the lock and the key slides in and turns like a hot knife thru butter. Amazing stuff. .
