So why are there heavy discounts on what should be a desirable vehicle?

I have about as much use for HD pickup as I do for a unicycle but I have been led to believe they are quite scarce these days.

That 4.7L V8 is a bad boy.

It apparently has to do with allocations. Dealers get so many for the lot and beyond that have to prove (mine had to send copy of my drivers license to Ford) a customer order. Salesman said at least half of their vehicles are sold to out of state customers. Saw a blue version of my truck waiting for a guy to drive up from Texas.

I have had exposure to a few.

I think if you can stop the rust they are ok vehicles. Chevy and Dodge have their own issues but aside from that, when they disintegrate they all kind of suck.

Day 2 i sprayed the entire underside with PB Blaster Surface Shield. They do appear to rust badly.

Congratulations!

If I was going to be hauling heavy loads or drive long distances, I think I F250 would be nice. That said, my F150 with the 5.0 V8 has been flawless over seven years and 153,000 miles.

If I can help it, this will be the last truck I own.

My 2017 F250 with the 6.2 will do about 14mpg at 75-80 on the highway, as a datapoint.

Body is 5000 series marine grade Aluminum, which is very corrosion resistant.

I think a 7.3 gas F250 might be my next truck with slightly less torque than my 6.0L diesel Excursion, it would do a wonderful job of pulling my 32' camper, and not cost an arm/leg to maintain.

That makes me comfortable with the numbers i'm getting. A lot of the F250's you see have the 3.55 so would do even better i think.

Mechanically the truck is a F350 for whatever reason Ford builds the Tremor package the same for both.

I love my F150 with the 3.5L Ecoboost. It runs like greased snot, is easy to work on and has a 13k tow capacity. And after replacing the coil packs at 70k (with Motorcraft, no aftermarket BS) I'm getting 17-19 mpg.

I really love my particular F250. Supercab, not Crew Cab. It has the 6'-8.75" bed, but it is the same size as a Crew Cab F150 with short bed. It has the heavier suspension for my handling pallets of bolts that my wife sells. Yet, the interior is as nice as my wife's BMW.

I really loved my F350, SRW, but that thing was just too long (Crew Cab with 8 foot bed).

But I congratulate you on getting a good deal on ANYTHING right now. I was pricing up buying a used Super Duty in Boise and the prices are higher than I paid NEW in 2017! I think it was a gas 2018 Lariat.

I have a 2021 F-250 with the 6.7L Powerstroke. I've had a few different trucks, but this one is my favorite by far.

I would love to have had the Power Stroke again, but I could not justify the extra cost over the 6.2l gas engine. It would have been at least $13K more.

That's an amazing truck...almost overkill great. I looked at a new one in 2020 that was marked down on the dealer lot in WI. for $64k, ($72k sticker). I really didn't need it but I should have bought it because it would have been a good investment. It would be worth waaaay more than $64k now.

I'm not a pickup truck guy (despite having a Chevy truck some time ago) but a co-worker got a F150 Raptor (extended cab, not crew cab) in 2018 and DAMN what a vehicle. That proved to me that pickups don't need big engines.

He was always a fan of Ford trucks having owned quite a few, and this was his pre-retirement present to himself.

Back in the day, my old Chevy truck ended up not being able to take rough roads, literally falling apart. The cab to floor seams opened up and needed re-welding.

IDK i don't think they're chocked. They're everything the 4r transmissions aren't. I'm not sure of the new 10 speeds.... I'm always weary of being the beta tester on new products. Especially ford....
