My Silverado has a 22 gallon tank (diesel), and I'm pulling down 27(ish) MPG around town, and almost 40 on the highway. And I don't drive "conservatively." If you're looking for a truck, I've been highly impressed with this, as my last truck (2014 F-150) got only around 17mpg.

We're still pretty high here in AZ. $4.50ish where I live; friends in Phoenix stating 4.70ish there for regular. I paid $4.85 for diesel the other day, and premium is $5.

It is funny how people get used to crazy gas prices, ans there is no option by grin and bear it.

I was at the convenience store the other day buying beer, and the dude in front of me bought a carton of cigarettes, a microwave burrito, a six pack of beer, and 10 bucks of gas, or not even three gallons.

$3.99 when I filled up the Cheyenne, my mother has been driving it, so it was almost empty, didn't fill up before it cut off at $100, 93 was $4.60 a gallon.

I can't justify a diesel. Cost of the fuel and extra maintenance cost take diesels out of the picture. I have a 2012 F250 with 90,000 miles on it. The truck only comes out to pull my 14K trailer or when I'm going to my hunting property with my UTV. That's why I'm thinking a smaller truck like a Maverick might be a perfect addition for me.

To be fair... he only needed enough gas to go home and return to the store ... when he ran out of smokes

3.59 at my goto station now...

At least he got "value" from what he bought.

With respect to priorities, I saw a guy spend $50 on lottery tickets and leave the gas station in a rusted S10 with a home made wooden bed and a broken rear leaf spring.

Since the gas prices have fell back...I only hear complaints about food availability at the stores and the smaller portions at the local restaurants.
Gas is easy to cut back on...food is not.

That's 20% of local vehicles. Also needs to have crates for hauling the "bear dogs" and and a sticker that reads "Schittbox Nation" which more than doubles the insured value...as if it has insurance.

This should have been in green, correct??

Real easy to avoid restaurants and overpriced crappy portions.

Not easy to cut back on fuel when someone has to commute to work, or your business depends on driving.

Just don't get your fuel price cheerleading...

Yes, I guess if you live in a vacuum, you won't hear about it, but I go to a lot of cars shows and cruise ins, and gas prices are the leading conversion after anyone who has a new car to show off.

Byron, I've always been aware of the delta between gas prices here and Jax, but it's huge now by comparison. Prices here shot up when oil was around 130/bbl, and slowly have come back down.... very slowly, but that's typical... same as it ever was. You guys are being gouged imo.... and somebody is making an obscene profit by comparison... jmho.

Two local stations getting their gas from the same truck, one is 31 cents higher right now. When oil was 130/bbl, virtually all the stations were within a few cents which wasn't normal either....

They charge whatever they "can" at times ... follow the $$$.
