G'day!
|
I worked today with my former helper for a couple hours and then we both had lunch at Mi Mexico. He had one of my old favs....the Carnitos Tacos w/cilantro and chopped onions....so good. It was "Taco Tuesday" so I had the 3 for $6 crispy beef tacos. I had a diet coke and he had a Jarritos Mandarin soda. We also had a bowl of guacamole, which was incredible.
Tab came to about $33. Seems like a lot just for lunch but everything was incredible and the service was great as was the atmosphere, and I surely want to support this business, so have no problem doing this again in the near future. I'm not a regular for any fast food places, including the Bell. But when I do - it's usually the deluxe burrito. Maybe I will try one of those Mexican pizzas......at some point.....

I like Taco Bell once in a while, I've heard the stories about their meat/sauce stuff but someone in a white lab coat is making it extremely tasty and addictive. I've eaten their 3 crunchy taco supreme meal w/ sour cream and "hot sauce" on the tacos about a million times since the '70s...mostly when out on the interstate these days or just on a whim. The burrito Supreme is also great.
I tried Del Taco once and wanted to throw it in the toilet...just skip the middle man. So, TB is a rare guilty pleasure for me but it's tasty as hell. My normal diet in L.A. consists of Mexican food 4-5 times a week from the best taco stands and trucks on earth, like award-winning good. I can tell anyone visiting which ones to hit for an incredible gourmet experience, usually at about $2 a taco. Oh yeah....$10 an hour delivery truck drivers know more about the food in their trucks than all of the scientists and regulators in the land. I mean, they heard it from someone and are generous enough to pass on the real truth.

Went thru the TB drive-thru today planning on a Grilled Chipotle Chicken Ranch Burrito.
When I was looking at the Cravings Menu...I spotted a 'Salsa Verde Grilled Chicken Burrito' for $2 It's just as good as the Chipotle....lots of chicken and a diff flavor. Took a pic of it...I'm not good at shooting food. ![]() ![]()

The exit on I-95 I'll be using on the way home from Werks Reunion (Manning SC) has a Popeye's, Chick-fil-A, a Mariachi Mexican, a Zaxby's Chicken and Wings, and a Shoney's.
What's my best bet ? (First time staying at X#119 in SC) Bill K

^^^ Of those choices...I would put Chick first...Shoneys last.
Zaxby's and Popeye's I never liked...too much breading. Never been to Mariachi

If I was South of the Border then I would have to hit the Mexican place .... just because
.I went to TB yesterday while out purchasing some dawg food.... it was "right there" and I remembered this thread..... I couldn't decide between the Chipoltle or Salsa Verde so I got one of each.... both were pretty dang good for TB fast food .... When I asked for a cup of water with no ice (my preferrred drink) the guy asked me if I wanted a complimentary senior's drink instead.... naw...no thank you. The rat bastid !

^^^ I liked the Chipotle a little more than the Salsa Verde.
For $2 .....either one is a steal. ![]() You can't even get a small cola for that price

The deluxe or the grilled are my favorites....always get extra mayo on the side.

I've never gotten anything but the regular chickin' sammiches ... we even drove to the mall back in college for 'em (years ago they were only found in malls). They are sorta OK
....I love 'em! Usually have one per week ... |

I found that if you just order them 'as is'.....they need more mayo.
Some don't like mayo...I like it especially on a chicken sandwich.

The grilled chicken club sandwich looks great also.
I will try that one next time.

I'm set in my ways Steve... back when I started eating there, you only had one choice ... the fried chicken sammich with 2 pickles on 'em and that was it!
They changed but I haven't.... Well .... I do only eat one now

^^^ I heard dogs love the CHEESY BEAN AND RICE BURRITO from the cravings menu at TB
They are only $1 each...you could buy 90 of them to replace the awful dry bagged dog food.

In the picture below is my house and my shop. Bottom center of pic is TB and the Speedway that sells Voodoo Ranger.
I mean, my existence is spartan but it could be way worse.
