For the Iced Tea fans here....what is your preference?

I wasn't much of a tea drinker until I spent time in China. Those people take their tea seriously. I visited a couple of tea houses where you could sample different types of teas. There was nothing in bags. I bought home a tea set plus a few different types of tea. I quit drinking coffee for about months. When colleagues of mine were going to Asia, I always asked them to bring back tea.

I have serval Assyrian friends who are tea drinkers and I like Erin Gray tea which I buy in loose leaf at Middle East specialty stores.

I do have bag tea and Constant Comment is one of my favorites

My wife went through a faux milk stage. None of us are lactose intolerant, but milk made her feel bad. I was actually fine with some of the faux milks. My favorite faux milk that, to me, most closely simulated real milk was half/half coconut milk and nut milk (cashew or almond). The oil/fat from the coconut milk gives the nut milk a more realistic mouth-feel.

It tastes AMAZING and actually lasts a (relatively) long time (at least 2 weeks).

For Iced Tea, I have always used Lipton. I think I've seen someone use Luzianne and that was OK.

I drink lots of other kinds of tea, white tea, green tea, oolong tea, "English breakfast", Earl Grey, etc... I could see trying English breakfast as iced (what I've got right now is called "Scottish Breakfast" because the place that I used to get English breakfast stopped carrying the one that I liked). But I suspect for iced, I'd end up back at Lipton.

Long Island Tea is a cocktail (I don't think I've ever heard the "iced" used in the name). Iced Tea (without the Long Island) is NOT a cocktail.

There are also other cocktails, Peach Tea, Raspberry Tea, Mexican Tea. I think there are/were a few others. I never much liked the Long Island Tea, but the others were pretty tasty.

I always feel like "Scottish Breakfast" should have some whisky in it. Nothing fancy, a cheap blend will do...

And anyway, for us, two peppermint herbal teas/tisanes and one of the big "iced tea" bags in a quart of warm water, then dilute for serving with ice.

Hotels that we stay at have our 9yo addicted to various fruit/cucumber waters. We may have to give that a try. It's a struggle to stay hydrated in the high desert southwest USA.

Many years ago, I got on a tea kick. I mostly drank Japanese tea, but also Chinese tea. Something that I discovered is that steep time is extremely important, and to a lesser extent, water temp. If you steep tea too long (and per my wife this also is the case for coffee) it gets bitter. For something like Lipton, I'm not sure how important it is, but for high quality teas, it can make a HUGE difference in the taste. And you can often steep good teas 2-3 times, but then the steep times are different.

When I was frequently fasting, my wife would make fruit water for me and it was delicious. Various fruits and possible cinnamon or cardamom are tasty. Most of the time, I think simple is best, 1 or maybe 2 fruits (sometimes lemon is good added to another fruit). If we add a spice, then that would mean 2-3 ingredients.

We (a long way from Long 'Island) call it a Long Island Iced Tea. Umm, nicer cocktails for sure. I think it's the vodka I don't like.

Tea is my every day drink of choice . We buy sweet tea of various ready made brands . Every other week switch to green tea . Works for me .

I use boiling water and the Decaf Lipton iced tea bags.

I then mix it with lemonade or another juice sometimes.
