GAS strikes again... I decided I needed some more pedals..

I had a box of vintage pedals from the late 70s but it apparently got lost in one of my moves....

She can play! Wicked. Savant level? There or pretty close.... She has a massive talent.

Cheers

Interesting story on this first ordered 1934 D-28. This is a Grail guitar. I love the sound of it!

Thank you Jeff.
Nope. Not a savant. Just a really hard worker. She’s been practicing really consistently since about age 9. Lucky enough to align her with teachers that were able to push her just hard enough that her internal motivation was piqued.
Then, she decided that she really wants to do this.
Faculty at her university is world class.

By the way - those guitars she plays in Brune’s videos are also world class
I think she played about $250k in guitars that day.
And yes. You CAN tell.

^^^^^^^^ Awesome. Good timing for her to get after her passion with good people around to help. But, yes, clearly he has put the work in!

Cheers

I am a big fan or Prestige Guitars here in Vancouver. Have 2 accoustics they built for me. Both beautiful instruments.

They started setting up their Custom Shop Factory in 2023 and I toured it before it was producing guitars.

Today I got a second tour, with another business peer, to see guitars being produced now. I have become good friends with Mike, the owner. Mike created a vision for a guitar just for me and I confirmed the order a few weeks ago. Details were firmed up on all of the custom details.

Great attention to detail and customer service. Their desire to build exactly what you want is un real. From picking the actual wood pieces to, inlays, to anything you can think of. Epic service and craftmanship.

Check them out here.... https://www.prestigeguitars.com/custom-shop/

They have a seperate company that allows them to source all of their own tone woods and supply tone woods to some of the biggest guitar companies in the world.

Cheers

Here are a few of the kid’s guitar.
Not Jeff’s luthier in Vancouver, but may be interesting.
This guy is in Paracho, MX. uses traditional Spanish methods.
Indian rosewood back and sides.
Cedar top.
French polish. Took about a year.
Sounds great - and her daily workhorse.

Hope you enjoy.

I'd like to have one of these. The real one sold in auction for 1.9 million.

Cool old school construction, but clearly yielded a great result!!

But ended up with this... essentially an identical guitar (its a single cut) but without the premium price the name attached brought..

Pretty Similar!
The bridges are the same,
The Pickups are the same,
The binding and ornamentation are the same.

The tailpieces are different
Mine, a 2671 has a factory coil tap

Allegedly the ones Ibanez custom made for Weir, had larger headstocks... the belief was the the extra mass on both ends of the neck helped sustain.... I think in a Spinal Tap sort of way... like 11, or heavy air

I just couldn't justify paying thousands more for an instrument because of the name attached....

The one I got is a piece of art.. though its tough to play for to long... it weighs close to 11#

I get you! Very cool guitar. Beautiful. Different in being a single cut with a slightly different shape to it, but so what...

The headstock details and fret board inlays are amazing.

Out of curiosity, any idea what the head stock angle is? It doesn't matter, I am just a curious guy....
