I've ownd HDs for 40 yrs. I'm very involved in the bike set, especially on the HD end. I go to bike events just about every week. There are plenty of younger guys on Harleys. There are a number of 20 and 30 somethings in the club I run with.

The biggest fault I see with HD is their pricing is doing them alot of damage. Not that they were ever "cheap ", even back in the 80's

I remember when the RC51 was coming out. It was around $10K and dealers were asking for $15K and taking deposits. I had a SuperHawk 996, which was great. Also a Moto Guzzi V11 Sport.

The RC is such a beautiful bike, never owned one but I am tempted as a living room decoration.

Yup, your demographic is skewed. It's Florida.

I think we are familiar with the mythical "elephant graveyard". The story goes that all elephants go there to die, and have left this vast wealth of elephant ivory there for the finding. Like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Sure to make whoever is lucky enough to find it rich beyond their wildest dreams.

Well, I think Florida is that place for aging Harley riders. They all go there to die. Except their yellow dentures aren't worth nearly as much. Maybe, though, if you can find that vast pile of wrecked Harleys, they might be worth something.

I've ridden V twin, L twin, and the flat Boxer twin. I loved them all. CP has no clue.

The most dominant, all time winningest racing vehicle of any description (bike, car, airplane, boat, submarine, camel) in the history of this planet was a 45 degree V-Twin, with a better than 45 year record of near total domination unmatched by any other racing vehicle.

The 90 degree V-Twin, on the other hand, has some pretty serious packaging problems in a motorcycle chassis. The motor itself is fantastic. It does, however, reduce the "sum of the parts" to a lesser "whole". It forces the motor to be too far back, it forces the wheelbase to be too long. Both affect handling and acceleration to a very negative degree. Motorcycles are not just motors, and the motor planform has a much greater impact on other design and performance elements than just its power output.

It has been a while since a Harley sucks thread, so I am not at all surprised to see the basement dwelling trolls chime in on this one.

I agree completely with Jeff, unlike some people I actually ride a Harley and am social. There is definitely a younger crowd involved. One of the guys I ride with is 25 and has a nice 1200 Sporty.

Carry on with the HD bashing, it must make a lot of people happy. For those of us that have a clue, we just shake our head.

Some of you guys like to throw around ignorant stereotypes about subjects you obviously know nothing about.

Just showing how it works when its going in your direction.
