I'm so sorry to see this Baz, very sorry for your loss. But your thread title is misleading. Based on the son she raised in you, she must have been a great lady! She will always be with you!

Offering my condolences as well. You were both lucky to have had each other.

You’ve done her proud Baz. So very sorry to read this. Would love to hear ANY of her ‘Sea Stories’ she might have shared. That wasn’t the easiest of decisions joining for a woman back then.
A tip ‘O my Dixie Cup for her Service!

My condolences Baz,
Great lady who raised a great son. Having you there in her final years helping her out must have been very comforting to her.

I know of the relief you feel, Baz. Your second sentence says it all.
Yes, it's a sad time and she will be missed by you and others she never met here on Pelican. You've done her proud and I'm sure she'd want you to continue on with life in the same way you've lived yours. So shed a few tears, it's bound to happen, but remember she'll always be with you. RIP to her.

Headed over to meet with the funeral director now. Will check back in later.... Once again - my Pelican family - thank you......

So sorry for your loss, Baz. You seem to be one of the most genuine people here...your mom clearly did a great job and was a positive influence in your life. Carry the memories in your heart.

Just got home from visiting my brother and found this.
Tonight I will make a toast to a life well lived and be glad a friend I have never met was blessed with such a woman in his life. Ladies and gentlemen, charge your glasses please. We celebrate the life of a wonderful lady! Best Les

101, what a run! She's in a good pain free place now Baz, be happy for her. Now go get that female Heeler pup and name her after your mom

Having lost both my parents within 6 months in 2021, I understand the emptiness and sadness. I also cherish the memories and still see things that remind me of them. My condolences. I like Greg's idea above.
