Now they are all desperately trying to walk back their overly optimistic EV sales predictions while trying to cobble together ICE and hybrid products that people will actually buy. For instance Porsche has already said there will likely be a ICE Macan after previously introducing their newest model as EV only. Meanwhile Toyota, who has said all along that hybrids and ICE are the answer, keeps plugging away.

I really enjoyed the 240Z

and the last of the 300Zs, we did well with those for a while.

I still have a few 240Z and 280Z bits that need a new home.

While their woes are pretty public, my Gladiator was great from new until about 65k miles when I traded it in, and my 2020 Ram Limited is exponentially better than the 2024 F150 Lariat and XLT that I’ve had recently as rentals for a week. Not even in the same league for driving experience, quality and refinement.

Had a 2014 Ram work truck. Great truck until the valve train imploded. $5000 and a month later, back to being a good truck until the rack went out…. $3000 later and a week later, back to being a good truck… m’eh. Meanwhile, no major issues with the Fords.

Bingo! To think, it all began with a book by a little known Lawyer named Ralph...then politicians got into designing cars.

Had a 19 Limited. Was flawless until I traded it for one of the biggest POS’s Stellantis make. Yes I know - stiff competition - but I stand by my statement.

No more FCA chez nous.

On my way to a medical appointment on the 3rd, passed the Albany (OR) Ford dealership. Remember when the Bronco was sought after and hard to find? Must have been 15 or 20 of them lined up in the lot. Hmmmm.

Is there an automaker that doesn't play the predatory game?

A desired new model is slated to be released soon with much media hype.
They have 'manufacturing issues' and delays.
Dealerships gather deposits and charge many thousands in extra premiums.
Customers finally get their car a few years later.

Meanwhile there are at least 500,000 buyers for a brand new (1982 exact everything) Toyota Hilux in this country.

Ford Motor Company U.S. retail sales gain 17% in Q4, driving full-year 2024 retail gains of 6% - twice the rate of the estimated overall retail industry
Total Ford electrified vehicle sales (hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric) hit a record 285,291 this year – up 38%, outselling GM and Stellantis’ electrified vehicles for the full year
Ford No. 1 in hybrid trucks with an estimated 76% segment share and No. 2 U.S. electric vehicle brand
F-Series remains America’s best-selling truck for 48th straight year
Lincoln delivers best annual retail sales in 17 years
Ford Pro Intelligence software platform subscriptions, based on end-of-quarter estimates, up about 27% year-over-year

Entering 2025, Ford bolstered its vehicle inventory to help offset the impact of expected supply reductions during plant changeovers for key product launches, including the new Expedition, Navigator and Bronco. The move reflects Ford’s strategy to keep its product lineup among the freshest in the industry for customers and dealers.

Strong Bronco, Expedition Sales; Explorer – America’s Best-Selling Three-Row SUV

For the year, overall Ford SUV sales totaled 771,042; Bronco family totaled 233,873 for the year with a strong year-end performance with Q4 sales up 38% on 62,568 Broncos and Bronco Sports sold.

I read an article today about a class action lawsuit against Ford for defective Ecoboost engines . It was about 2.7 and 3.0 if I remember correctly . Seems like defective intake/exhaust valves were the issue . Anyone else see or hear about this ?

Didn’t Ford also set some sort of record for recalls in the last year or so?

When the Hellcat vehicles came out Dodge told the dealers to sell at MSRP or don't expect to sell any more.

Funny, I would buy another Chrysler (or any Mopar) again but will never own another modern Nissan ever. Not even for free. A 240z/260z maybe, but nothing from 2010 on.

All our Mopars have been pretty trouble free, but the longest we ever kept one was 197k miles.

Opposite luck here. I have more in repairs on our 68k 2008 F150 than I did on our 197k Mopar.
