Push it all to the sides first. I kicked and lifted it. Worked fine. It is lightweight and balanced.

With heavy snowfall, start at the sides, small bites, then the middle.
Always downhill
Only try to push what a single sweep will carry.

Then use different shovels for trimming and cleanup:
-a square dirt digger shovel to break up larger ice tracks off the asphalt surface. Or a pick axe. heh
-a steel-tipped plastic will then scrape it all smooth.
-salt. only as needed

Got about 5 inches of light powder through the night. Forecast called for "periods of light snow ", but I think we were getting moisture off the Bay of Fundy. Anyway, it moved easily. Less than a half hour with the blower on the driveway and another half hour on the roof to clear the solar panels. Now the sun is beaming down. Not a bad day for January.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1737127535.jpg

Last night we saw -8 C. By Sunday morning we're supposed to be at +8 C with rain.
It is kind of pretty out there, at the moment. That will change.

Never thought I would be a part of this thread, but---- we expect 4/6" snow in my little town of

Slidell. We are just north of New Orleans. My plan is to stay put and make cheese cakes and

cookies. This far south we are not prepared for such stuff. We have city workers in the back

of a sand filled pickup truck with shovels, no one has snow tires and not one person owns a

show shovel.

We are under a winter storm warning in Opelika. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...89ad3288d3.jpg

Well, after 5 inches of powder on Friday, we had rain Saturday night which melted it all.
Then Monday brought some freezing rain and snow which formed a crust. Tuesday morning dawned bright and cold:11 degrees below freezing. Lots of ice in the buckets in the barn this morning. At least we have scrapers and snow shovels.
Welcome to Nova Scotia, if you don't like the weather, just wait a bit.
