Yesterday morning we were 25º. It only got up to 35º yesterday afternoon because it was overcast all day. It started snowing last night, I think around 8 or 9. Since it's been overcast, this morning is a bit warmer than yesterday at 28º, but I think it snowed quite a while. We've got a pretty solid covering of snow except under trees, probably about an inch. The clouds should clear up today so we'll get some sun and up to 38º. Since we won't have the cloud cover, tomorrow morning is supposed to be 19º, but tomorrow the sun is supposed to warm us up to 50.

Welcome to Nova Scotia, if you don't like the weather, just wait a bit.

We’ve had the same snow - partial melt - freeze - snow - freeze cycle. I stepped on a patch of snow and the next thing I knew I was flat on my face. There was 2 inches of smooth ice under the coating of snow.

-4 out this AM, on its way up to 12.

A trip to Nova Scotia is on my bucket list. Always been intrigued by the place.

Our huge snow & ice storm (1") from two weeks ago finally melted away (including runoffs) right before this ... at least the roads & sidewalks dry.

Water pipes & mains are freezing.... 16 degrees here ... won't go above 32 until Fri. :(.

This is dangerous ... the mtns will be made even more miserable ....

Not fun ... nope!

cookies. This far south we are not prepared for such stuff. We have city workers in the back

of a sand filled pickup truck with shovels, no one has snow tires and not one person owns a

show shovel.

We used to stay in Slidell for several of our escapades into 'Nawlins way back when...

Cajuns will be ice fishin' :)!

We have our coldest day this winter so far. It is 6 degrees and just a dusting of the white crap that fell out of the sky. That is more than enough for me. The sun is up, and shining so hopefully the white crap goes away soon.

NE FL has a winter storm warning, the locals are making a bigger deal out of this than a hurricane! 1/10th inch of ice! lol!

I lived in Jax way back when ..

1/10 would be a serious disaster on the roads ... much more on the bridges.

It ain't the ice ... it's the idiots :D

I think I got you beat. Still trying to survive off of space heaters. But the HVAC guys are here today working on the new boiler!

Public busses are not running, pretty much all schools and colleges including all of the way down to Galveston are closed today and tomorrow. I got a text and email yesterday that "offices will be open, but we strongly encourage employees to WFH" for today and tomorrow.

Our kids are also not working today.

ryans65 01-21-2025 08:55 AM

Likewise!! This is not what I was promised! haha

Yes, that is cold for where you are. I also noticed that Porsche Tech's pic has maybe more snow on the ground than here in Michigan.
Been a weird winter so far.

(ahh youth)
If the car doors aren't frozen shut, drive down to the mall parking lot and practice those e-brake slides.
Lemonade. :D

ryans65 01-21-2025 09:30 AM

Me and a buddy swapped cars while doing donuts about 20 years ago, he had a pretty new audi tt quattro and I had en e30 318is..... I promptly drove his TT over a snow covered concrete island thing in the parking lot while he watched. Really took the fun out of that day.
